Victoria . Public School _ eon-
joyed its'annual field day at the
school last Wednesday af-
ternoon with hundreds of
children .. competing in nine
events and four categories.
Ron Stoddard topped . the
competition in the midget boys
division with 10 points. Ran
recorded first place finishes in
the high jump, running long
jump and standing long, jump
and added a third in the 100•
metre race. Pam Alcock took
the midget girls division with
second place finishes in the
high jump, running long jump,
softball throw and 100 metres
for a total of eight points.
Each athlete was allowed to ,
enter four events with three
points going to the winner of an
event, two for• second and one
for third.
Gary Williams was first in
the. running long jump and the
100 and 220 metre races and
added, a second in the softball
throw to lead the juniorboys`
division. with 11 points: Lisa
Taylor was the top junior girl
with two firsts and a second in
the 200 metres'fot dight points.
George Kerr was a tough
man to beat in the intermediate
division as he recorded four
firsts in four events for 12
points. George won the 100, 200
and 300 metre races and the
running long jump. In the in-
termediate "girls division,
Juanita Fielder, Tracy
MacEwan and Mary Lynn.
Pagan all tied for top spot with •
eight paints.
Juanita recorded two.
seconds, a third and a first in
the triple jump. Tracy took
firsts in the running long jump_
and the 200 metres and added a
'second in the 100 metre race
while Mary Lynn took first
place id the 100 metre and
added two seconds and a third.

Wes McLean recorded a near
perfect day in the senior boys
division with three5irsts and a -
second. Wes won the 100, .and
300 metre races and the triple
jump and finished second in the
200 metre for a total of 11
points. Grace Ross was.the only
.other athlete o obtain four
firsts in four events. Grace
. handily won the senior girls
division winning the 100 metre
race, the high jump, the 'run-
ning long jump and the stan-
ding long jump for 12 points.
Everybody loves a winner. George K -err was a proud young man at the Victoria field day as he
captured four firsts in four events. George's specialty was the track events;
