Aren't you feeling just grea
with this beautiful weather, the
spring -flowers and the mos
birds you've seen in years? I
am,
You. can't help but geta real
lift, ,but then too, you have a lot
of extra things that must be
done - so Pm torn between
duties and things I'd like to do.:,
like - just sitting or looking - or
something foolish like that.
It has been so nice, hubby has
been able to spend some time
outdoors - he has even gone so
far as to spade up a small
corner,of the would-be garden,
so 'that we might have &Salt
four tomato plants again. When
I,say "spade up" - THAT was a
real effort - but I wouldn't
discourage him for the world.
So with resting every few licks,
lie managed just fine.
Lucky for us - a thoughtful
young man came in with his
roto -tiller - a whirling dervish
that -quickly enlarged the spot
and the birds are as happy as
we are over the whole thing,
I wonder if you realize that
Ontario Police week is almost
over - and you haven't gone to
visit the Police Station? This
week the young people have
taken a hand and each day a
new- small 'police chief proudly
tries on the hat and jacket - gets
a chance to see and feel the
workings of the Police Dept.
The. children have had ecitirs
etc. and- I'm sure will ap-
preciate the work of this great
institution. Why not stop in?
Since Goderich was in.
corporated in 1850 - after
struggling along for twenty-five
years, one has to admit it has
made great strides in the' last •
twenty-five. I'm not sure if it
advanced from Port 'of
Goderich to TOWN' Goderich -
or if it is still officially "PORT"
anyway I like calling it the
"Port" and since itis the only
Port, big enough for the
`takers' to enter on Lake.
Huron right down to Sarnia I
think we should be using this
title oftener. •
So, wP haVe.'inany plans for:.
this summer, especially when
we hope our many Jriends and
relatives will visit the Port of
Goderich. The Committee for
Celebration '75 gave' me a few
definite dates for your calendar
