brood sows and cow udders, as
well as for many purposes in
the farm home.
Here are a few tips to help
obtain .maxi mum efficiency:
1. Make sure the water heater
is well insulated,
2. , Set the water ' heater
thermostat as,low as' practical
for the limiting use.
3. If lime deposits occur, have
the ° tank flushed or cleaned
" regularly. r
4. Locate the water heater as
close to the center, of hot water
use as .possible, If significant
use points are widely
separated, consider installing a
second • tank. This is .par-
, ticularly-, useful •if present hot
water supply is ziotadegiiate.
5. Repair leaky faucets. A 15 -
cent washer will soon pay for
itself inV energy.
6: Insulate hot' water pipes to
reduce temperature drop and'
unnecessary water draw to get
hot water.. -

more to all Qf us tomorrow.

When area county school
boards prepared their 1975
budgets they had to exclude
capital building project funds
since ;the introduction Of
building project cutbacks was
introduced by Education
Ministelr Thomas Wells.
Both the Huron and .Bruce
County School boards - were
denied any funds to carry out
building projects that the
boards had planned. The
members of parliament for
Huron and Huron Bruce, Jack
Riddell and Murray Gaunt
respectively brought the
matter to the attention of Mr.
Wells in the legislature. •
Mr. Riddell • was concluding
his remarks about the Throne'
Speech when he added that the W
Bruce and Huron county boards
of education were ,depied any
grant whatsoever -but the un-
fortunate part was that neither
board was consulted. " They
simply received a letter from
Mr. Wells stating that they
would not receive one penny of
a grant. •
Mr. Riddell 'continued, ad-
ding that the grant denial in-
terrupted a five year program
on the part of the Huron County
Board of Education to have
industrial arts and 'home
economics courses throughout
the county. "
Also a mini -computer pilot
project was shelved and one of

completely packed up because
they didn't receive a grant to
rectify the situation.
However Mr. Riddell pointed
out to the members that the
fact that the Huron County
Board did "not receive a grant
will not disrupt the programs in,
Huron as much as it will ir><
Bruce County, Grants were
made to certain county boards
who. did not even request the
extent of .. the grant they
received and yet other boards
who- needed the grants -were
refused.
Mr. Gaunt, member for`
'Huron -Bruce, then requested
that the minister reconsider the
ministry's decision to 'chop the
entre capital projects plan of
'The' Bruce County Board of
Education since some schools
were . under tremendous'
pressure because of the rapidly
increasing population in the
Douglas Point area.
Mr. Wells explained that the
ministry has been slowly
weeding ..out and cutting back
on capital projects and he
thought that perhaps the Bruce
Board got some things in the
past two years • that other
boards did not receive which
• would balance things out.
Mr. 'Riddell then interrupted
and requested the 'minister to
reconsider the Huron Situation
if he was doing so with Bruce
since he has been informed by
heads of science departments
that they will stop dissecting
animals in , science class'
because they cannot afford to
purchase animals.
Mr. Wells retorted that Mr.
Riddell was talking, about
• operating funds and he believed
that the Huron Board had
a
adequate- to operate and
do all the things it wants within
the educational framework of
the province.
