Univertity of North Carolina,
there are three possible
reasons: (1) as cars get older,
belts and belt buckles may
become damaged and more
difficult to operate; (2) older
vehicles are frequently
driven around town instead oft,,
on extended highway trips;
(3) as vehicles become older,
they are more often driven by
the young, who are less likely
" to use safety belts.
