Constable Fortner as•a result of
information arising from the
six day trial of Constable John
Hills. Constable Fortner faces
two charges of discreditable
conduct, two of deceit and one
of neglect of duty. '
The charges resulted from
Constable Fortner's statement
of a shooting on The Square and
his actions as a police officer on
the night of October 27. The
differences in Constabl'e
Fortner's - „written statement
and his testimony of the event
in court prompted the in-
vestigation by the Goderich
police force.
' The Goderich Police Com-
mission chose the option under
Section 18 of the •Police Act to
