The Goderich Signal-Star, 1975-03-27, Page 3Aq IOKIE BLCI( • 75 YEARS AGO There was a fair 'sized audience in Victoria Hall on Friday evening to witness the entertainment given by the pupils of Misses Dugit and Donagh. The affair was a grand success, as the pupils -t were without exception, successful in the numbers they were en- trusted with. The opening number, a piano solo was most creditably, played by Miss Florence Connolly. Physical exercises by Miss Dugit's class of girls and boys was an ex- cellent exhibition, the, graceful motions of the whole being' given in a manner that showed they had a good. teacher. A minuet by Misses F. Connolly, Ethel Mosely, Grace Thynas and May Rothwell was a pleasurable presentation of old time dancing by clever pupils, A `vocal solo by Miss .Parsons was most sweet and charmingly sung, and. the Highland Fling by Mill' ', T. Macdonald and B. Neelin, of Seaforth, showed that the young, when well trained, can aptly present Auld Scotia's favorite dance. -60 YEARS AGO The regular meeting of the town council was held on Friday evening, with all the members present.
