A record attendance of 42
children and seven adults
turned out in one of the worit
blizzXrds of the year for ,the
first meeting in 1975, held in St.
Mary's school a week ago last
Friday night.
* 'President Scott ,Wilson
welcomed meriibers, guests,
and the 22 new members. Roll
call was answered by reports
on the progress and per-
formance of the Paperwhite
Narcissus bulb the children had
received at their "Christmas
Party with a 'difference" (each
club member received a
potted bulb in lieu of ex' -
changing gifts).
Secretary -treasurer, Michael
Madden read a report of the
"club's Novembes meeting and
also ChrisrMasbarty.
Mrs. Jean Barnett was called
upon to conduct new business.
She began by introducing the
newly -formed 'Junior Gar-
dener's Committee, under
auspices of the Senior Garden
Club. They are: Mrs. Carol
L, Wilson, Membership and Social
'Coonvener; Miss Jean Senior,
program convener; Mrs. Kate
'Moriarty, June Flower Show
Convener; Mrs. Genevieve
Madden - (absent at this
meeting), convener for the Fall
Flower show; Bruce Bettles is
Flower Beds Chairman
assisted by Mrs. Betty Allen. '
The Green Thumbers whole-
heartedly volunteered to assist

tribution to the 19.75 town im-

The Junior Club is to have
their own Yearbooks which will
contain their show schedules,
program of meetings and
special events and activities
* planned for '75, as well as
exciting gardening ideas and
tips for Junior Gardeners.
The Senior committee felt
that an increase in membeKship
(to be announced before the
April meeting) would be in
order, to assist in covering the
cost of nursery stock, seeds,
etc., that the Juniors will
receive in May with which to
begin planting and caring for
- their own personal gardens.
These 'gardens are to be in-
spected throughout the growing
season.
There are many ether extras
throughout the year as well as
full privileges , to enter the
hildren's Section at all Senfor
Garden Club Flower Shows.
,Bill Wisser, former
president of the Blue Mountain
Club* of the Bruce Trail
Association was gu'est speaker
for the evening. Bill is now a
directOr of the Blue Mountain
Club whose function, it is to
niaintain the Devil's Glen
Provincial Park section of the
Bruce Trail. He is • also a -
member of the Griggsville
Purple Martin Society. ,
An ardent conservationist of
fauna and flora Bill also
organizes hikes, nattire trails,
etc. He gave the Juniors a most
interesting discourse on the
beautiful Eastern Bluebird and
volunteered ib assist the
Chibbers make and distribute
Bluebirdlaaxes, 1-16.,also.invited
them to assist in assentling

membership cards issued. It i
hoped that Yearbooks will be
ready for distribution at this
meeting also.
