DAY OF PRAYER
World's Day of Prayer was
held in the Church on Friday
March 7th with a good. at-
tendance considering the
stormy day .it was.
Opening the service was Mrs.
Elwin Feagan reading "Call to
Prayer". Dungannon ladies
and Nile ladies"took part in the
program which was divided in
five parts.
Giae't speaker was Captain
Grace Herber from the
Salvation Army, i Goderich.
She was introduced by Mrs.,
Clements;
How can we become one?"
she asked.
° We can be used by „God.
Prayer is needed and the
strongest force between our-
selves and God," she said. We
should spend time in prayer.
We can use the power of prayer
in our actions. -..,Love of God is
necessary in our lives.."
"We should love one another
as God loves us," she stressed.
We can become one with the
love of God in ourselves. There
is nothing stronger in the world
than love."
Sharing - Jesus has called ds
to be his ambassadors, to go
where we can be used, to tell
people about God's Love," she
concluded. We share as a goal.
We " . need ' Jesus Christ in
everything we say and do."
Mrs. Doug McNeil and Mrs.
Earl Sherwood received the
offering. -

Onta'r'io Ministry of Natural
Resources has warned many
Ontario municipalities 'about
the threat of flooding due to
warmer temperatures. "
Rapid snowmelt and heavy
spring rains have caused
severe flooding in certain areas
in the past and the ministry
advises the implementation of
protective,measures well in
advanc'. Storm surges and
hi'gh waves are a potentially
serious flood threat again this
year on Lakes Huron, St. Clair
and Erie where water levels
have remained abnormally
high for quite some time. •
The Ministry of Natural
Resources has thereforead-
vised' that the . Emergency
Planning .committee of
Municipal councils develop
operational procedures to take
'action against the threat of
flooding: An equipment in-
yentory" should be made
available and careful attention
should be paid to the rise of
local rivers.
During the. early, ' spring a
close watch should be kept on
the weather forecasts for in°'
formation on the development
of storms to provide ample
time to combat the threat of
flooding. -
