Goderich advanced to the
finals by beating Mitchell 7-3.

straight games.
The first game will be played
in Port Elgin on Tuesday night
with the second game at
Goderich Wednes.day at 8:'30.
Sailors will travel to Port Elgin
for the third • game Friday
evening and then- back in
Goderich Sundarfor a game at
2:OO p.m.
Sunday afternooh, March 2,
before the largest attendance of
the year, the Sailors scored
four insurance goals in. the final
period to defeat Mitchell Red
Devils 7-3.
Both teams played cautious
and close checking hockey: for
the first period as only one goal
was scored by hard working
Wane. Fisher. Fisher played a
steady game, picking up two
goals for the Sailors. -

The Sailors took advantage in

power play goals, one ,by Ron

and Wayne Doak got his second
goal of the game for other

Sailors only had two minor
penalties called plus one 10
minute misconduct in the

from Jim Hayter. Bill Jansman
and Wane Rau picked up
had a 3 to 1 lead 'going into the
third period. But the Sailors
fought back to tie the game and
then win it on a goal by Wayne
Doak at the ' 4:33' mark ' of
overtime.

Mitchell opened the* scoring in
the second period on ,a goal by
Graham Cox unassisted but
Jim Hayter broke loose to tie
the game one -all as he split the
defense and fired it home
unassisted. Mitchell picked up
two more goals in the last two
minutes of play in the'second as
Ken Rielly and' Bill Chessell
connected to beat Chuck
Jewell.
In the final period it was Ron
Miller who picked up Wayne
.Doak's 'pass 'to make it 3-2.

up Doak for the winning goal.
Mike Courtney kept Mitchell
with their heads up as he was
the aggressor all night picking
up 11 penalties.
