The Interclub Figure Skating
Group Competition was held in
the Wingham , Arena on
Saturday with 12 clubs, par-
ticipating.
The Goderich club finished
third for the team trophy with
Wingham in second place and
Stratford winning.

Huron Bd. will deduct salary for absenteeism
The . Huron Board of
Education under fhe terms •of
the Education Act gave power
to the. Chairman's Advisory'
Committee to .deduct an
amount not exceeding $300 for
' each month missed by a board
member.
The director of education,
acting as secretary, will now
keep a record of attendance at
board meeting and committee
meetings and the attendance
record will be reviewed by the
,Advisory Committee.
At the 'last meeting the
members passed a resolution
that the Advisory Committee
would be responsible for the
question of payment to an
absent board memlr and that
tie absence of J.P. Alexander
since November of last year be
considered an approved leave
of absence.
Under the terms" of the
Education Act a board member
must forfeit his seat if he
misses three consecutive
meetings without a leave of
absence. However a board
member does have the right to
appeal if his salary is affected
by the resolution.
In other board business a
delegation had attended a
::,,,,tric workshop in Chatham
and advised the board to pursue
a metric education progratn.
Vice-chairmen Herb Turkheim
said that he believes that it
should be part of the board's

Matthews. The girls discussed
the next club which was "The
Garden Club.
The names the girls had to
choose from were,' Sewing
Centre, Natures Beauties,
Timble Fingers, F'un Fabrics,
Mix and Match, Cuties
Choosers. The one chosen .was
Shirt Tails created by Brenda
McPhee and the picture by Lori
McPhee.
A lunch committee -will bring
lunch each meeting.
Also discussed was, a skit for
Achievement Day.
