) ROUND AND A0001,1111ilf MARTHA
I want to brag a little - to start
off. I have more than a bakes
dozen grandchildren, including
a set of twins: now sbme of the
„grandchildren are having
childtzen - and last week Linda,
of the Florida branch of the
MacPherson Clan comes up
with twin boys, both well over
six pounds. How about THAT?
That's why I'm bustin' my
buttons!
Now to settle down. A week
ago I made up a wrong name
from a set of initials and. last
week a typist. mistook my A for
an E and Don and Isabel Riehl
were, asked if they had three
s'ons instead, of two, when all I
wanted to say was that Addie,
their daughter, had won - one of
many - prizes for her decorated
bikexhen she was a little girl.
Adeline is a big girl now - and
a great many of you will
remember her as a terrific ball
player with the 'Dodgers -
Goderich Girls (Champion)
fastball team. Remember?
Addie is married to Ralph
'Graham from one of the
Western provinces and has a
family of two boys arid a girl --
the spittin' image of her
mother. ,
They are now. living in
Belgium at SHAPE „ near.
Brussels and loving it. Ralph is
o with the Canadian Armed
Forces there i'and they are
• enjoying visiting all the top
spots of Europe. Also 'at the
of SHAPE--ltve-Ntatt.--
and Janie Jordan who' .are
remembered with affection by
those who knew' 'them when
they lived in town.
To get back to our Town, I am
happy to hear from different
groups and organizations about
their plans for the Centennial
Plus Celebrations this year.
If you will think backuto the
wonderful year of 1967 when
just EVERY group par-
ticipated in the festive events„
you can come - up with
something. Since our town.. •
becomes 125 years old this
year, it deserves a birthday
party lasting several months--
don't you think?
,This is a great time to get out,
those nice old-style gowns you
wore that year and get some
more wear out of them.
If you haven't one, you still,
have time to make one and_
enjoy. it 'this summer. You will
need it again .411977, too, since
that is the 150 year birthdayof
the founding of Goderich.
So please, PLEASE, get your
plans finalized right away.
Drop me a note at the Signal or
write to Brian Markson at the
Coach House on Hamilton
Street.
