POLICE FALCONS
ALL—STARS
The Goderich Police Falcons
played back to back with
Wingham on the weekend. The
first game was on'riday night
in Wingham and the Falcons
lost all determination and let
Wingham go ahead i-2. The
only Goderich goals were
sc'ore'd by Rick Stoddart,
assisted by Steven Arbour and
Gary Peters and the second
goal by Dale Duncan assisted
.by Paul Dougherty.
On Saturday, Wingham
travelled to Goderich only to
have the tables turned and the
Falcons defeated the Warriors
5-2. By the end of the first
period, the• score was, 3-0 for
Goderich on powerplay goals
by Paul Doughertyy, Dale
Duncan, and Steven Arbor
assisted by Hugh Hanl;,i. In the
seconcj period, both sets of
defense'Were working hard as
only one goal, was scored by
Winkham, making it 3-1. The
third.period started yith a Last
goal for Wingham but Goderich
came back"with two quick One
by Roger Lewes assisted by
Gary Peters and fifth Goderich
goal by°Steven Arbour, assisted
by Paul Dougherty. The team
played," a good game and
deserved to win. In net for the
Falcons was Gerry Gaynor who
came up with some strong
saves.
BANTAM
HOUSE LEAGUE
In the Bantam House League
this week, in a game played
Sunday morning, Goderich
Elevator upset Don Hoist Real
Estate 3-2. There was. no
scoring in the first period as.
both goaltenders came through
with some excellant stops.
Brian Reed opened the scoring
to start the second period to
give Goderich Elevator a one
goal lead. Before the ,period
ended,,, Don Holst came back
with two quick goals, Larry
McGee from Torp Doherty, and
then Rod Graham scored
assisted by Dave Ruosemalen.
In the third period, Goderich
Elevator's top scorer, Brian
Reed tied the game and then
got the winning goal with only
35 seconds remaining. Eric

In the fourth game of the
playoffs with Petrolia Midget
"A's", the Twins won the series
and 'the game in Petrolia last
Saturday ,evening, the final
score was the Twins 7, and
Petrolia 3. The Goderi. l..
Midgets played heads up,
hockey, kept their cool and
stayed out of the penalty box in
the last period of the game as
Petrolia received 14 minor
penalties mostly for roughing
• and charging.
Petrolia opened the scoring
at . 1,',13 on. a , three -on -one
breakaway. Jeff Field getting
the goal. The Twins came right
back to tie 'the game on Tim
McLean's backhander, Ben
Worsell started the play from
the point. Bill Lewis got the tie
breaking goal as Paul Schaefer
dug it out to him from the
corner. Before the period en-
ded, the Twins went ahead 4-1
.on goals by Tim McLean, Phil
Arthur and'Bill Lewis. One of
the best periods of hockey
which the Twins have played
all year -as it was a team effort.
They all skated well, and
played excellent positional
hockey and back -checked,
picking up assists on the goals
were Greg Beacom, Bill Lewis,
Ed Courtney and Mike Cum-
mings.
In the second pe▪ riod; Petrolia
fought back and scored their
second goal With a mar1._ad- -
vantage. Jay Freer let it go
from close irt'. Then at 10:14,
Freer. picked up his second
power play goal of the game.
The biggest goal of the game •
was scored by Bill Walters as
he intercepted a pass along the "
boards and let one go from a
share angle, hitting , the top
corner. This goal was what,-
Goderichneeded as this gave
them a 5-3 - two goal lead going
into the third and final period.
In the third period, Mike
Cummings made it 6-3 as Tim
. McLean and Steve Chase set
him up at the 12 second mark,
then Phil Arthur scored the
Twins' nafinalgoal 0 power

The Pee Wee All -Stars will
play their first game of the,
second round of the O.M.H.A.
playoffs on Wednesday, Feb.
19, at '8:30 p.m. in Orangeville.
• Their next game will he back in
Goderich on Thursday
February 27,
They will also play in a
tournament in Collingwood this
weekend. Their first game is
against Stoneybr Ook.

this meeting, so parents and

The club is planning another
dance on April 5 at the Arena.
