AUBURN AND DiSINCT NEWS
The February meeting of St.
Marx's Anglican Women was
held at the -home of Mrs. Ian
Clark on last Tuesday. Mrs.
Clark opened the meeting and
welcomed the members. , The
first hymn chosen was. "The
Lord is my Shepherd!' followed
by prayers by Mrs. Elmer
Trommer. The Mission Theme
was chosen and given by Mrs.
Robert Slater entitled - . The
Peace of the Lord. The Bible
study was led by Rev. Fred
Carson followed by the hymn,
"Now thank we all our God"
and the Rector closed with
prayer.
Mrs. Celia Taylor presided
for the business section of the
meeting. The minutes of the
January meeting were read by
the secretary, Mrs. John'Daer
and approved. The financial
statement wase•, given by the
treasurer' Mrs. Thomas'

Several members of the
Auburn Ski -Doo club spent the
weekend at Wiarton.

Huron -Perth drama
GDCI hosts festival
The annual Huron -Perth •
District Collegiate " Drama -
Festival' will be held at
Goderich Collegiate on
Sa•turday, February 22.
This year only two plays will
be featured at ' the festival.
Exeter Secondary School will
:put on Colors of the Dark,
written by James Reaney of.
London. The GDCI entry The
Great Storm of 1913, was
written by Warren Robinson
and will feature a cast of 64.
The awards for the Huron=
Perth festival were donated. by

of Goderich Rebekah Lodge No.
89 held their February meeting
at the home ,of Mrs. Vera
Larder 91 Quebec St. Goderich
on Tuesday evening Feb. 11th.
Sixteen members. answered
.the roll call. Several members
were reported on the sick list as
well as sorne.being saddened by
deaths in the. families.
•In the business part a
discussion. was held to inquire
about a new place to hold our
meetings.
The members enjoyed a
game of 500 with Mrs. Edith
Craig high. Mrs. Amelia
Straughan low. A sincere vote
of thanks was extended to the
Lunch Committee and Mrs.
Vera Larder for a lovel,y:pa'rty
in her home. -.

Drama Festival. Presentations
will be made for the out-
standing production and per-
formances and an ad-
jtadica'tor:s award will be given
to a group or individual .for
theatrical achievement.
The adjudicator , may also
select other students to receive
Awards of Merit, which are
hand lettered certificates, to be
presented at a later date. The

outstanding production award

a regional festival to be held in
Hamilton, April 10, 11, and -12.,
From the district festivals
held throughout the province,
36'productions will be invited to
participate in .four regional
festivals which Jlrill r -un for
three nights.
Mr, Dennis Sweeting will
adjudicate all four regional
festivals and will choose the
outstanding productions to go
to the all -Ontario Final
-Showcase to be held at .the St.
Lawrence Centre, Toronto,
May 8,9, and 10.

gathered for a good old-
