Dad .needs Iotterywin to fix up the basement
MY HOPES FOFI 1975
For the year of 1975 I hope
that Dad wins' the Olympic Lot
tery. This is because if he
doesn't he will have to take out
- a second morgage to fix up the
house. By fixing up the house I
mean that he might build a
greenhouse, beam the down-
stairs, install a new septic tank,
fixup our celler (almost im-
possible) and maybe even build
a pool.
In 1975 I would like the town
to build a new pool and arena
because they,have each searved
the town .well since they were
built and now deserve to have a
load taken Off their shoulders. I
would also like the town to
.retain it's small town size and
friendlyness while at the same
time build the new shopping,
malls for greater selection and
better prices
Oh yes, one last thing I
would like •the town to covert
to solar energy so as to save
much needed energy and to set
an example toother towns.
For 1975 I hope Canada has

Also I hope Canada does not
have a civil war because civil
wars are alway the worst kind
when brothers a fight against
brothers.
In 1975 I hope the United
Nations can declare "world
peace" to the rest of the world.
I think I should also say that I
hope we find a way to manufac-
ture tasty, nutritcous food and
a cure for diseaces like cancer.
My last wish that I would
like to come true in'1975 is that
the wars in Ireland and the
Middle East are stopped.

MY HOPES FOR
THE FUTURE,
For the New Year., I think the
important things I'm hoping
for are:
- 'that there will be less traf-'
fic.
- this'would mean fewer traf-
fic accidents and death's.
- the world would be a' lot
these products cost more than
you think.
Another killer is "Pollution".
Garbage corning out of pipes
leading to our lakes and river*.
are killing hundreds of fish and
slowly ruining the thoughts of
going down to the town beach
for recreation in the summer.
Factories are letting At smoke
and smog everyday.
In the United States of
America, the death rate is
tremendous
Man wasn't made to kill
eact}, other but the way people
are being murdered each year
you'd never know it.
I._think machines will over-
power the skill of man. For in-
stance in the past, cars, air-
planes and trains have put the
use of the foot,' to almost null
except for those who are
-energetic.
Will our gas and oil lase -or
by the end of 1975 will we be
paying even more for the oil we,
have to have imported to
-Canada? •
Arson is becoming a more
noticeable crime than it was
thirty to forty years ago. Today
The prices will climb higher
and higher if the government
wouldn't do anything about it,
and 1 think, its starting to
cause a Depression.

MY PREDICTIONS QF
THE YEAR 1975
I will be lf4 in 1975, and I
predict th.at'the Buffalo Sabres
will win the Stanley Cup. 'I
hope that I pass in 1975, and
do well in high school. To be
five feet, nine inches in 1975
would be just my wi ,h because
I wanted to be on the football
team in high school.
My mom and Dad are real
nice people so I hope that they
win• the Olympic lottery. To
have a Merry Christmas and a
happy New Year for the under-
privileged people would be just
what I would want. ' •
I Want peace and unity to
spread throughout the world
because a lot of innocent people

I'm hoping for lots of snow at
Christmas, a colourful fall, a
cheery spring and a gloriously
hot sunifner. That is what I am
hoping for in 1975, and I hope
for everyone to have a very
MERRY CHRISTMAS.

HAPPEN, IN THE YEAR '75
What I am hoping'for next
Christmas is, I' would like tai
see more colorful and different
decorations on the hydro posts
on the square. I also hope they
don't just go around the square
but also down the streets from
the square. But, also reaching
as far out the highways as
possible so that people from far

just to see 'our town. For I .

MY WtSHES FOR ,A
MERRY CHRISTMAS
As I lay in bed on this merry,,
night, ply head is full of en-
joyment of 'what will happen
thefollowing day. There .is just
one though which sends shivers
up and down my spine. It hurts
me deeply when I think of this.
I then get down on my knees
and pray to God Almighty that
the children of underdevetoped
countries have a Christmas as
happy as the one which I am
about to witness the following
day.
I am now concentrating on
my beloved country which is
slowly falling apart from the'
force of inflation. My hope is
that the major governments of
the world come together in a
convention and discuss way to
control inflation.
My last sorrowful though is
that the `town folk respect. the
trash -cans instead of throwing
their garbage onto the streets of
our beloved town.• In , con-
clusion these issues would be
improved so everyone has a
very Merry Christmas and a
prosperous 1975. •

THE, PREDICTION OF
THE YEAR 1975
0
•
I predict, that jobs Will, be
more scarce because of com-
puters. Jobs will be harder to.
get a hole ,of.
The'prices of Food will be
unbelievable all over the world.
I will give you some examples
that I predl:ct• that has already
gone up and ;climb even higher.
Gas will . be skyrocketing, pop
will be up to thirty cents and
gum for small .people will be up
to three cents. The. price of
meat is bad now, just wait until
1975. It was said that there was
a oil shortage in the united
States, but there wasn't.
When there was a show on
the oil shortage, they found out
that there wasn't. They said
there was enough oil : in the
United "i States to last up x to
seventy five years without 'even
pumping for . oil out of the
ground.
You won't . be able to buy
anything for „under a dollar,
sugar will go up to two dollars
anal fifty cents a pound. Yc u
won't be able .to go out of
Canada much. Holidays will he
too expensive, .everyone will
complain because taxes will he
`too high,..there will be strikes
and more strikes of salt, -fishing
industries and other strikes for
higher wages.
WHAT WILL BECOME OF
1975
In 1975 will we live in houses
or will poverty send us to
shacks? Will prices go skyhigh
until we have snot la penny to
our name? Who ^tnows? Cer-
tainly not "me, taut I do have
ideas.
;Mead the newspapers, ' . .
In 1975 will they say "In-
flation a Killer of Man and •
'Money” or will they say "In-
flation cut.in Half" It all
depends on the prices of food
such as canned goods, beef, and
sugar. You can't blame the far-
mer for the price of beef, dairy
products and eggs because to
buy the materials to produce

GODERICH IN 1975
In the ver of 1975, I think
"that Goderich will have drastic
changes made.. For example
Goderich (after` building the
mall) will expand in population
and also in business. Goderich
is not my home town but I
would like very much to see
this town grow.
With more people' coming
into Goderich that means more
business. With more business
• that means more larger com-
panies: With these expanding
more goods will come in",and
thus this later on will lead to
• an industrial empire: This con-
cludes on how Ithink this town
will-` be. looked upon in 1975
and on.

WHAT I'M HOPING FOR
IN THE YEAR 1975
In 1975 I am hoping to be in
grade eight. I also hope that I
get a nice teacher and good
grades. Also if I make it into
grade eight I get confirmed. I
hope to be smarter next 'year.
