MY HOPES FOR
THE YEAR 1 75
My first hope for my life is
that my high school years will
be as good as my grade school
years. I also hope that I go on a
trip to Poland this summer. My
main 'hope is that I get a good
part time job. °
My hopes for the town are
first that we get the two plazas
wanted. My second hope is that
the fair and the parade will be
better this year. I also hope
there will be no more van-
dalism.
My hopes for my country are
that the preparation for the
Olympics will go along good.
My next hope for this country is
that we get more rock groups.
My last hope is that we get a
space program like Apollo or
Skylab. •
The hopes for my world are
first that there will be peace
among nations. My next hope is.
that nations will keep on im-
, porting and exporting producls
laar. and greatest—hope is
that the United Nations will
stay a strong organization.
These are all iny hopes for
the year 1975.

MY 1975
PREDICTIONS
The past year has brought
the world bad times but it has
also brought good times. Let's
hope the New Year will bring a
lot thare 'good times and alot
less bad. My first prediction is
, that the Buffalo Sabres will
win ,the Stanley cup well above
other teams. The price of cattle
will go up .and grain prices
down and hay will go higher.
By he end of 1975 the price of
bubble gum will soar to
.record high of three cents. I
alsOpredictthat dentists will
be out of work because people
will refuse to buy sweet foods
and sugar at the price they are.
There will also be a rocket -ship
launched to Mars and the
astronauts will see either Mar-
tians or plant life or even both.
That is all of my bredictions.
Patrick Boyle

1975
I don't really know what's
going to happen in 1975, but
since inflation is going up so
fast it will be pretty high when
I'm 23,. unless someone can do
something about it tomake the
prices go down. If prices don't
go down stores might not have
'to order any more' food because
the prices will keep going up till
no one can afford it. So if 1 was
the person who could set the
prices either higher or lower, I
would lower the prices down a
little bit, I would!

'MY 1975 PREDICTION
In 1975 I think that fashions
will be more modern. Older
people should wear things that
attract people, bright colours
,f such as orange, yellow, green
etc. Younger people should also
wear brightt colours.too. When
people come to visit our town
they can say, "Oh, this town is
very modern, and look at the
nice clothes they wear!"
Wouldn't that be nice to hear
people say that'?
I think that 'people ,should
wear •more -modern fashions in
1975.

is funny though because one
year in 1974 Goderich was a
quiet little town, than they
made one or two plaza's. They
made building and factories.
Think of 1999 we will not even
be able to breath because of the
smog' from all of the factories,
we will not be able to 'walk
because of all of the buildings.
I just hope people will soon see

come up with something. .Also
that there will be a• shortage of
supplies in some some country

will be an election' in Canada

because of personal reasons.
Non-leaded gas Will become
more popular in Canada and
other countries. These are my
predictions
everyone who has a house run
on natural gas pollutes. Besides
the price of natural gas is going
up about $10.00 a month and
that would mean that soon
people .wouldn't be able to
aford natural gas. Besides you,
can use electricity and the
world almost has a neveren-
ding supply of it.
Start using electric cars. Stop
using jets until you can think of

On the water without polluting

WHAT I PREDICT
FOR 1975
.. In 1975 Goderich is going to .„
be very rich. It's going to have
lots of malls and stores. The
ladies in Goderich will wear
long fancy dresses and the little
boys and girls will wear nice
good looking dresses and pants.
Some will wear bine jeans and
satin tops. The food will be
high and so will the taxes on
houses, cars, heat and others.
Goderich will have.horse racing
in winter. It will have car
racing and more pool rooms
and games. It will have a .big
Y.M.C.A. for the younger ones.
The 'schools will be big and
more people will go to them.
That's what I think 1975 is
going to be like in Goderich'

THE BEST YEAR EVER
In 1975 I'm hoping to have ay

prices of all products made will
go down or at least stay the
same as they are now. I'M also
hoping to' get into high school: I
would be a better life for me
•and ',all ray friends.
In Goderich I hope for a
larger sports complex and a
bettor, variety of winter and
summer sports such as fastball
for the younger people and
lacross. I'm also hoping for a
new shopping mall.
And in the world I'm hoping
that there is a better relation-
ship; Such as. Junior Olympics

seventeen wars old. All ,this
would improve the world a

FOR. 1975 le
thin in 1975; there will be
more inflation and maybe in
sorne cofintries EACE. We
have to try to getvilong. Did
you know 'that Canada is in
conflict with the'United States
over oll'09,111.t over oil! We all
know - that oil is an expensive
,product, bat still couldnit we
try ,to get along, better?' I'm
hoping that in 1975, Viet Nam
will be a better place to live.
It's kind, of dumb to fight over
government or over religion.,
Lets make the world a better
place to live.
Inflation is a big problem, all
over the world. Steak is really
-
expensive. I think if more
people,yvould stop buying steak,
the price -would go down. Some
old people, that live on pen-
sions, are forced to eat dog food
because of the high price of
meat. Can you believe that?
Milk is also very expensive.
The last time my mom bought 3
quarts of milk, ,it cost - $1.35.
'Shampoo/costa quite ia bit too.
Some kinds are cheap but other
kinds can cost up to $2..00 Just
recently, my Dad's boss bought
a new car. It e'ost about
$12,000.00 That's inflation for
you Hopefully in, 1975, things
will be better, but right now the
outlook is not too bright,.

"THE NEW YEAR"
As time goes by people
change, the environment
changes and so does the cost of
living.puring 1975 I' expect
that thecost of food, clothing,
and various other requirements
will increase. In 4975, the
population will rise in many
towns and cities, bringing forth
the expansion of inthistijr,
.buildings etc.
ManS, people will insist on
higher wages due to the in-
creasing value of things, This
could bring many'strikes to
,ogipanies and stores.
