FESTIVE ROAST PORK 1 pork roast, 4-6 pounds, boned and rolled (loin, shoulder butt or fresh leg) 1 clove garlic 2 teaspoons fennel seed 2 ,, teaspoons dill ;seed 2 tableapooris brown sugar 1 ;teaspoon thyme 1 teaspoon salt 1, teaspoon pepper 11/2 -cups finely chopped parsley 1/2 cup parsley flakes Basting sauce:, Syrup from 19 ounce can apricot halves 1./4 Cup Untie roast; open flat. 'Cut two or three lengthwise slashes along the thickest part L to within.11/4 inches of outer edge. Auxiliary was held in ..the Auditorium on Monday.. The residents have an opportunity to do some Christmas shopping at the fair from the tables of gifts that have been donated by various organizations in the County. Refreshments were ser- ved the craft room during the Afternoon by ,the auxiliary. The residents enjoyed their first Christmas program of the season on Wednesday after- noon at the December Birthday Party. The Walton Women's Institute was hosts for the 'oc- casion and following the program, gifts were preaented to the celebrants with decorated cup cakes and tea served to 150 residents and guests. Mrs. Neil McGavin was em- cee for the. afternoon and led a sing -a -long of Christmas music; Mrs. Rrmnerson Mitchell, Mrs. Harold McCallum and Mrs. Humphries played several in- strumental numbers; vdcal duets by Mrs. Herb Travis's and Mrs. McGavin; a reading by Mrs.. Frank Kirkby; and a Christmas Story narrated by Mrs. Harvey Craig completed.
