In the Past, freeze injury was not included. The quality factor is determined by establishing the relationship of juice price to tree -run price at time of har- vest. This means that if a grower has' a high yield but it is severely graded down because of poor quality, he may still have a claim after the. quality factor is applied. Two new ,price options are being offered tb permit growers to cover the increasing costs of producing. a crop of apples. .Now growers may insure their crop at 3, 4c, 5c or 6c depending , on what level of coststhey wish to cover. Under the crop insurance plan tor apples, ,a. grower is guaranteed. a certain percen- tage of his own average farm yield.. If his actual yield (reduced • for quality if necessary) is less than ,his guarantee, he is paid for the difference at the price option of, his choice. " All new applications or renewals of existing apple con- tracts, with a $50 premium deposit, -must be Made 'by De,cember 20 for the 1974-75 crop year. For further infor- mation growers should contact The Crop Insurance Com-, mission of Ontario,Parliament, Buildings, Toronto, Ontario, M7A 1B7 (Phone 416-965- 1811).
