At the reception attende&by' business and., professional people in the area~ B.B. Baron, manager of the office, in- troduced K.A. Powers, general manager of the Ontario region and K.K. Hay Roe, supervisor of the Ontario region Toronto. They briefly described the work of the bank, pointing out that it provides financing by term loans or by equity invest- ments to businesses of almost every type which are unable to obtain such financial assistance elsewhere on reasonable terms and conditions. John- .-Lee- presented a demonstration, of black -and -white enlarging. • October 28 was the first con- test night -, the subject was "autumn color", and over thirty entries were received. First place was taken by Rob McEwen with a study of the railway bridge 'taken from , a , point near the jail. Second went to Pat Lee for an autumn scene taken near Dungannon. Pat also took third place for a backlit close-up •of red maple leaves. Two of the three winning slides were taken on the Oc- tober 6 field trip. Contests .are held on the second meeting of each month; on November 25, an open con- test will be held with up to three black -and -white or color prints 'Of any subject accepted from each member. • On Monday, November 11, the Maitland. ,Valley Photographic Association meets with the Sarnia Camera Club'at the McLean Centre in Sarnia. Members will .meet �t 6:15 p.m. near the Victoria and Grey Trust Company where a car pool will be formed for the trip. The program is to be,. "Negative Evaluation", given by 'a professional industrial photographer. Membersare asked to bring a problem negative, one that has been dif- ficult to print or has yielded unsatisfactory prints. • On November 25 the regularly scheduled' meeting will include the month con- test, a demonstratjon by Bud McCreath of t6chniques for in- creasing film speed, and a movie ,.."Birth of .a .Camera" which show§ the manufacture of the Asahi Pentax. December 9, the last"meeting of 1974, wewill be judging results• of a photo contest held by the 'G,D.C.I. Camera Club, and members will see a film from Kodak entitled, "Pictures by Existing Light". Some programs scheduled for 1975 are home processing of color slides, a field tripto photograph 'spring flowers, and vacation photography.. Meetings are held at 8:00 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, at 192 Elizabeth Street in Goderich, and any photo enthusiast is welcome. Membership is encouraged not only from. Goderich, but from surrounding areas. Each meeting has been designed as a self-contained program for the convenience of Member's who cannot attend each session.
