The October meeting of 'the
Goderich G'ar.den Club was
held in. the gymnasium of
Robertson Mer;norial School on
Monday evening. In the ab-
"sence of the president, Mrs.

received their premium bulbs
in time to plant this month.
After discussion on necessary
clean-up measures to prepare
lawns and gardens for the win-
ter, the guest Mrs. Lee Legg
was introduced. She is the.
president of the Goderich Art'
Club.
Mrs. Legg demonstrated her
painting ability at the easel, by
producing an- oil painting of a
collection sof fall flowers.
During the demonstration, Mrs.
C. Worsell provided the
audience with coffee and
cookies.
A number of members of the
Goderich Art Club were present
also. They had contributed
many of their floral paintings
to decorate the hall for the
meeting.

entitled "All About Nutrition."
Eating nutritious foods is an
important part of our daily
living. Recent results of the
Nutrition Canada Survey have
pinpointed nutritional
problems of Canadians.
The all -day meeting features
discussions on a wide range'of
topics relating tonutrition and
food habits - choosing food in
the supermarket, labelling, ad-
ditives, food 'fads.

The. members of the
Women's Day- Out Committee
believe, "Women are .;Special
people who need time to share
good fellowship with others".
That is why they spend time
and energy carefully planning
interesting Wednesday morning
programs.
Last Wednesday members
were pleased with the Opening
Dtry. Dr. Tony Miller
challenged the group toput
their child's problems into
words. After discussion the
ladies had a better understan-
ding of the problem. Dr. Miller
made the group think; he
listened -to them; be talked`with
them, not at them.
"You could bounce your
ideas off an expert` who is an
experienced' father and
psychologist.' He has problems
with h.is«kids too", one observer
said.
Ladies were delighted with
the babysitting. Jean Senior,
Linda .Barlow, child care
workers, and -Phyllis Durst, an
experienced mother, had a
roomful of happy .,children.
Mother~ listening at the door
were relieved" not to hear their
children. Chris Bryant,
Sharron Moore, Sharon' Wray
and' Debbie Nice did a beautiful"'

toddlers. Twenty-two children
all were there.

As the program has no out-
side financial support, this fall
a 50c admission is charged for
the following expenses: fee for
the hall, ° tea, coffee, sugar,
juice, cookies `etc.
.The group believes this is one
of the feta' bargains left in this
world of inflation.
