Carp Fisher, Mike Courtney, Jim Farrish, Derk Wolterbeek, Rick Sowerby, Jim Hayter, Bob Dick; Wayne Rau and Bruce 'Stahl, all members of last year's team,_have retur- ned to the lineup. Rick Duckworth and Rob Kellestine, who recorded a 'respectable goals -against average'sharing the netminding. duties last year, will be in the._ nets again this year. Despite finishing second by. one ` point to division leaders Port Elgin who ousted Goderich in the playoffs last year, Jewell anticipates an even more, prosperous season, The divisions has now been in- creased to seven teams with Lucknow gaining late entry into the league. - The other six established teams- in the loop include Goderich, Port Elgin, Seaforth, Mitchell, Clinton and Kincar- dine. Each team will also play 'a home and ..home series with Fergus, Walkerton, Hanover and Milverton which will be considered as regular' season games in the points standing. The teams will play w a 32 ' game , schedule with Goderich opening•at_horne November 8 to Seaforth. The Sailors will play their regular Friday night'home, games with a feiv slated for Sunday afternoons. League president John. Doherty cited - the late entry by Lucknow, • which necessitated a revamping of the schedule, and' the fact that some, arenasare now just installing an ice surface as the major reasons for the schedule's late start. • The delay however should prove advantageous to ' th'e• Sailors who have been prac- ticing for a number of weeks. Also some new acquisitions have 'bolstered the confidence of coach Jewell who °believes that this • year 'the .clgb h'as legitimate" all-Ontarm b ' aspirations. "We have got the club that can win it all this year", Jewell stated. "I think that it is. the besti .all round 'solid club that Goderich has seen and . the weak point, if there is one, is that the team was not a mart on man club or a physical team but that is going to change this year," John Fenwick, a new ad- dition to the defensive corp, exemplifies the new look of the club. Fenwick, a native of Kingston, where he also' played some college hockey, 'came to Goderich dine' 'months ago. Fenwick is a thinking, heads up player whom Jewell is looking to tomature the club. Ron and Paul' Corriveau have also joined the team. Paul will c ,etre for 'Bob Dick and newcomer Cam McDonald who is expected,to add.muscle to the forward line on left wing. Ron will join Carp Fisher on, the bliteline, although Fisher is ex- pected to play more forward than 'he has been accustomed to. fans." prepared for_ its home opener .against Seaforth last Friday, coach Jewell reiterated president Dohe.rty's. expec- tations as he anticipates a .good, fast, tough brand of hockey and an impressive season from , the Goderich "- Sail:ors. ° BRUCE MACDONALD ELECTRIC Domestic -Commercial -Industrial 133 Britannia Rd.
