Enright of Goderich, conduc- ted the meeting which opened with several verses written by - Dag Hammarskjold of Sweden and a prayer "A Heart of Faith" which was used by Mother Teresa, who has devoted her life to caring for the sick and dying on the streets of Calcutta, India. Reverend Mr. Royal of Knox Church welcomed the ladies to. 'this Presbyterial meeting. The president then made reference to the educational display on.. the, wall, "The World for Christ", which was a large map of Canada and a large map of 'the world with colored squares shdiwing areas where- W.M.S. work is being carried out all civet the world. The open bible and a Symbol of the Presbyterian Church with R world, cross and a crown and a lighted candle, "The Light of the World", made an attractive table display as the source of world missions. In the business far the after- noon the Seaforth W.M.S. ex- tended an invitation to Have the Annual °meeting of Huron Presbyterial at Seaforth on January 8, 1975, at 1.30 p.m. Mrs. A. Enright at, a vkry interesting report of the 59th. Annual Council meeting. pf the W.M.S. W.D. of,. the Presbyterian Church of Canada which was held in Ewarf College, Toronto, lay 27-30. One of the special speakers at this Council. was Mrs. Burnett who urged all present to press or in service as "God still has work for the women of the ,church to do. If we all prayed - more, gave a stronger witness and gave more of our abun- dance what witnesses we would be•for the King of Kings and,to what higher service can we be called. The devotions of the meeting were taken by the Auburn ladies and the Belgrave ladies COLBORNE.. CORNER took up th+r offering and gave the dedicatory prayer. The theme of the meeting was "Go tell Everyone" and 'ten of the ladies dressed in Sari, nurses• uniforms\or street dress posed as workers under "the Board of World Missions in India and gave an accountwof their training and of their work, which was . quite educational and acquainted us with the various worliers.'This was climaxed by Miss Beatrice Scott, of Port Elgin, who is retiring at the end of this year after more than -;5.3 years of ser- vice in India, as the guest speaker telling the ladies of her work in India and during her time as a missionary and what has been accomplished. Musical numbers of a solo by Mrs. Robert McCallum, "Nothing, but 'Leaves for the Master" and two trios by a group of. ladies, "Go' Tell It on the Mountain" and "Have • Thine Own . ,Way Lord" . were very much enjoyed. Mrs. Harvey Hyde 'of Heilsall thanked the speaker for her splendid message, the ladies for their musical numbers, ° and all who had taken part and made V9 this meeting so interesting and f(:er the benediction a social tr e was enjoyed by .all present wi h the ladies of the Arthur .Cir e''an,d the W,M,S. after- noon auxiliary serving .a dainty lunch. Mrs. G. Kaitting 524-1011. RECREATION The "Tryhards" and the "Clovers" had a game last week, but weather has .per.m.it ted another game. They plan on playing a game Thursday evening October 17. 4-H GIRLS Tiger, Dunlop Group 2, the Entertainers; held their sixth meeting Monday evening at the Carlow,- Hall. The meeting opened with Betty „ Sowerby saying the .pledge. Nancy Brin- dley read' the Treasurers Report and the minutes were read by Linda Kaminska. The roll call, An Idea . for an Organized Party Game, was'an- swered by 14 'members. The leaders and • the girls then discussed what they must keep in mind when serving rood out- doors and. the di' ferent. food menus for different parties. All' the members then participated in making butte- cup cakes which were later e`rved with ice cream for a dainty lunch. While the • cup cakes were cooking they made plans for Achievement • Day and plan on doing a skit. The meeting closed • with Karen Kolkman repeating the Creed. • CHRISTMAS COUNTRY FAIR The Christmas Country Pair will be in full swing again this Saturday in the Saltford Valley: Hall. The spacious' room for display,easy parking and many special attractions should make it one of the best to date. WOMEN'S INSTITUTE Tiger Dunlop Women's In- stitute meeting will be next Wednesday, October 23rd at 2 p.m. and—Miss Jane Pe.ngi l ley, home econpmist, will be the guest speaker. All members are urged to be present and visitors cordially welcome. RECREATION Any young adults interested -in the Adult Recreation Night (Volleyball) at Colborne Cen- tral School make note that this started this past ' Wednesday night at 8 p.m. and will con- tinue ' every week until Christ- mas. COMMUNITY NEWS Several ladies from Tiger Dunlop W.I. ,attended the Lon- desbbro Women's. Institute meeting last Wednesday evening,, Qctaber 9,, " and report •a most enjoyable evening. Guests , with Mr. and Mrs. Terence Hunter over the holiday week end were, Mr., Jim Thompson of.Lindsay and Miss Sheila Baker of Seaforth, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hunter and daughter Cathy, Strat- ford, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Thompson of Etobicoke and Mrs. Joe Armstrong of Detroit. Her husband William, 72, also injured in the accident, was driving east on Highway 401 when a westbound car driven by 4,ohn Reid, 36, of Agincourt, went out of 'control and crossed , the median striking the .Cudmore vehicle. The Cudmore 'car rolled over and landed on its roof. Mr. Reid and a passenger, Fred Bennett, 34, escaped without injury. . Mrs. Cudmore is survived by her husband William; two sons, William N. Cudmore, Clinton; Calvin Cudmore; Toronto; three daughters, M°rs. Mike (Merle) McQuaid, Toronto; Mrs. Cecil (Joan) McMann, ,Toronto; Mrs. George ( Lois) McClary, Hamilton; six brothers, two sisters and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by three sisters. .She was resting at Cavil' Funeral Home until Tfaesday. Burial was in Nichel Cemetery.
