He said these outside experts
will eri,rich the secretarial
science, academic upgrading,
commercial retraining and con-
tinuing education programs at
the college, -
By e'm4loying' the skills and
talent of county residents, Mr.
Bjorkquist hopes to,comperisate
for. the ' Clinton Center's
isolation. Most of the college's
campuses are concentrated,in
the 'Kitchener area.
,He , saidstaff and teachers
have felt this isolation in the
past, but he felt President Hun -
is taking steps to relleve it,
bringing more of the college's
resources to Clinton,
Mr. ,Hunter will tour the
Clinton Center September 17
and meet with staff, faculty and
community leaders to ,discuss
the college's role in Huron
County.
Mr, Bjorkquist has definite
feelings of his own about the
college's role.
5'
A community college should
fill the gap in education bet- .
ween secondary schools and
universities, he said. But it is
more than that
"It. is to be educational with
in., the community it serves,
primarily Huron County," he
added. ..
• He expanded thisi, statement
by explaining that t'he entire
county can ,arid should take 'ad-
vantage of the Clinton Center's„
facilities, ,but the college and
the county have to work
together to fulfill that role.
Mothers may give their families
