The Official Opening of the Signal -Star was a very rewar-
ding event for the owner publisher R.G. Shrier. Mr. Shrier
(at microphone) offered' special. thanks to his„'staff who
"[rade-this new building possible by Working very 'hard

The new Signal -Star offices and plant on Bayfield Road were.
officially opened last Friday with a ribbon cutting ceremony
and open house. The ribbon was cut by three people who
devoted much of their life 'to > the success of the Goderich
weekly. They are (left) 'Mrs. Ethel Green who worked in the
Signal -Star offices. for many years and under several
publishers; (centre) Mrs. George EIIis, wife of The former.
owner and publisher;the_late G.L. Ellis; and Bob. Henry, who

Among the first people to sign the gtrest book at the Signal -
Star opening were Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Clark. Port ron.
Michigan. Mr. Clark worked at the Star in 1912.S1al-Star

Signal -Star Vice sident Howard Aitken served as Master
of Ceremonies at the Official "opening of the newspaper's

appreciation for the staff and his happiness at being part of

'the new Signal -Star building last Friday after the grand.
