The award was given at Monday's awards assembly to the student who had accumulated 17 points for executive efforts in the school such as participation on the student's council or other school clubs ig an executive position. Gold medallions were presented during Monday's awards assembly to young people who had • accumulated 115 in total points for athletic activities during their school career. The Brian Aowds Memorial trophy for th''i most valuable male athlete went to Larry Donnelly and the award for the most valuable female athlete was won by Tanya Palmer.. (staff - photo) 41 Two very special awards were made at Monday morning's assembly at UDCI, The first, the Arthur, Peachey Memorial award for the greatest contribution to the school and to student's organizations over at least four years at the collegiate went to Joe, O'Keefe; the GDCI Leadership trophy for participation in various organizations and for academic achievement was •won by Sue Freeman. Both are Grade 13. student;; at GDCI. {staff photo) n To qualify for an honor plaque at GDCI, a student must complete four years of secondary school with an average of 75 prcent or better in every year. This, year, 13 young people from Goderich and area ,earned that distinction. and received their awards from teacher Glenn Rit- ,tinger at Monday morning's awards assembly at the school.
