Sympathy is extended to Mr. and Mrs. Derk Logtenberg and family in the death of Mrs. Lotenberg's father, Mr. Simon DeBoer of St. Helens who passed away suddenly on Saturday. Weekend guests with Rev. and Mrs. ' Clarence McClenaghan included Mr. and Mrs. TroyBlair of Brandon, Mrs. James Waterworth of -Waterford,. Mr. and Mrs. Cor- nell King of Waterford: Mrs. Blair and Mrs. Waterworth are aunts of Rev. McClenaghan. Eldon 'McClenaghan from Win- dermerewas also home for the weekend. Mrs. Ewan MacLean gave • the offeratory prayer. Mrs. MacLean- gave "Truth About Mothers" taken from Glad Tidings. Mr. Sand, local student minister was present and con- ducted a Bible study, dividing - the ladies into two groups. A, discussion followed. Mrs. Jim West conducted the business part of the meeting. Mrs. MacLean had the closing prayer. Local basebali standings The Victoria Day Teners for the eight Industria Softlmtl teams set the standings after " the first week of league ball. DRMCO, Fisher Building, andy's Clippers and. Gord's Sports all earned wins in their first games to force -a four-way tie for first in league standings. Sandy's Clippers have strong ,...,pitching and hiding and have utilized these assets to remain undefeated -after three games. They now"hold first place with DRMCO hot on their heels. The Good Roads team also looks strong_and has won their only two games leaving them in second spot tied with Gord's but holding a game in hand on Sandy's. Gord's Sports cauldn't, sustain as rally in the bottom of the seventh against' Kendall, and. r'emain one game behind Sandy's Clippers.
