United Soccer fans.
ready for game
against Clinton
BY RONNIE VARGA
Here is lucky No. 3 for Goderich United. Tony not only -
*ears this „lumber on his uniform, he is the big three—hand-
some, humorous and happy!
Tony Van Dungen is 38 years old and has been a sport-
sman for most of these years. He hails from Holland and
since 1948 has been Canada's own. Tony owns And operates
a farn•3 in the Clinton area and keeps, -very busy.
His involvement with Goderich United and coaching
minor .soccer for the Clinton Atoms has his spare: tune, all
wrapped up. He has always played on a Goderich soccer
team and is a welcome. asset.
•
Tony is admired by team members (and fans) because he
brings to the game of soccer two special gifts - desire and
dedication. He's an all around nice . guy, too.
SOCCER NEWS
Hi, United Fans! Thought you'd gotten rid of me for a
week eh?' Well,, heaves a sigh of 'relief; I'll make it brief in-
stead .of my usual long - winded epistle!
Just wanted toremind you of this week's game on Sunday.
It commences at 6:00 p.m. against Clinton. It should be an
_interesting match, Our "walking wounded" should be-
, recovered with 'juices flowing' ready to sacrifice their.'all' in
the name of soccer'!
Pete and Cathy i-erlufson threw a housewarming party
last week and when our gang gets together, you better know
, your house has been warmed! Pete is a member of the team
or 'steady standby'. They are dependable players who can be
.counted- on to perform efficiently, at a moment's notice.
Venture down to the field on Sunday and thrill to the
• heart -pounding action a .dynamic game of soccer can
produce! (Poetic ain't it??!!)
United we stand - divided we fall! God bless 'til next time,
keep fit and stay happy.
