The Kingsbridge Youth Club
catered on Mother's Day, Sun-
day, May 12 to the Mother's
Day Luncheon held in the
Parish Hall at Kingsbridge. All
mothers enjoyed a free meal
while the fathers were charged
,50c wrapped in a dollar bill as
admission. This ' meal was
surely a treat to all mothers,
The Youth plan to honor the

past week of the, death of
Joseph I. Sullivan of Detroit
and formerly of this area. His
death occurred on. Tuesday,
May 7 following 17 years con-
fined to a wheel chair. Funeral
Mass was said at St. Mary's, of
Redford Roman Catholic
Church with burial. in Holy
Sepulchre Cemetery, Detroit,
Mich. Mr. Sullivan is survived
by his wife, one son Jack and a
daughter Mrs. Patricia Whelan
all of Detroit. One son was
killed in service: Sympathy is
'extended to his farniuly and the
many relatives and friends.
Seedingand planting
operations, in , this area have
been at a stand still since April
27 due to the continual down
pour of rain. The heavy,..frosts
last week,haven''t helped mat-
ters either. .
The April meeting of the
Huron County Branch of the
Architectural Conservancy of
Ontario was held• in St.
Joseph's Parish Hall,
Kingsbridge; and was hosted by
the Kingsbridge membership.
There wasa presentation of
the work of cataloguing historic
structures in Colborne Town-
ship by George ' and Ruth
Robertson. As a matter of in-
terest, Mr. Robertson noted
that' there are deeds in the
Township which pre -date those -.
issued by the Canada Com-
pany
Slides of early days in the
Country, including one -room_
school housesstill standing,
were also shown(
Floyd Courtney, a student of
hosts
group.
St. Joseph's school, gave an ex-
cellent speech on 'the Huron
County Jail which he had
prepared for the Oral Com-
rniunications Festival. ,
Four members attended the
Annual meeting of the ACO at
Union Station, Toronto. An in-
formative tour of the Station
was conducted by Dr, Douglas
Richardson.
• The next meeting of the ACO
will be held Wednesday May 22
in the. Agriculture Office Board
Room, 20 King St., Clinton,
Ontario at 8 p.m. Anyone in-
terested in the preservation of
the best examples of the •Ar-
'chitecture of the Province and
for the protection of its places
of .natural beauty is urged to at-
tend.
