For the credentials commit-
tee, Lloyd Hern reported atten-
dance as 212, about the same
as last year, whenthe city of
Barrie was 'meeting -place. At
the banquet in North Street
church, 216 were fed.
.Jo'lin Henderson, Brucefield,
mentioned that suspension of
mail service had forced . the
committee on arrangements to
do some long distance
telephoning, with , unforeseen
expense.
This was the second time the
Provincial Grand Lodge had
met in Goderich, the first being
in 1906. "It is not likely," the
grand master remarked, "that
any of the delegates to that
session are here today."
The Grand Orange L'adge of

written and spoken of as "of

Enthusiasm for cricket_
mounts in Goderich
An old6sport may bring about
the formation of a new league
in Goderich if the' enthusiasm
of seven young men wears off
on.
,sufficient number of
Goderich residents.
The sport is cricket and the'
seven young men arae those that
at nded the premier meeting
of c iciket players on -April 24.
Re reation Director Mike
Dvmo d describes tie group of
seven a. the keenest group he
has see ' involved in an
organized venture in a long
time.
The last meeting of the
cricket enthus'asts produced a
list of 20 p ple that, are
definitely inter ted in. par-
'ticipating in the ,port but for
various reasons cou d not make
u
it to the first meeting. The men
decided to have a second
meeting in the Rec Director's
office on May 3 using the time
to attempt to stir up some in-
terest from the community.
• Plans`' are in the' offing to
form an executive quickly so a
`new league can be established.
It is hoped that by doing this
some support can be gained
from the Athletic Com-
missioner's Office in Toronto'
This government office sup-
ports newly formed sports
groups by securing equipment
for the teams involved.
Any Goderich residents who
would like a spot of -cricket this
summer are invited to attend
a the group's next meeting,
Friday, May 3.
