Every stream and river found hundreds of young, old and in- between flashing lines back and forth along their banks. " It was just -GREAT. To add to this, the . seagulls - or Donaldbert's chickens - as they are known as- in some parts dotted the fields like sugar cubes on the dark earth. All in all it was a beautiful weekend and thousands showed they were enjoying it. I couldn't help -smiling the other, nite when it was so "balmy" all .the kids on .all , the` streets were out playing and the babble in the early dusk made me think of my own ..childhood when we tried to crowd as many games as possible into the fleeting minutes before dark. -I notice the kids stay out a lot later than we were allowed - but I doubt if they had any more fun that we had with our Tag Run my sheep -run! and other hide arid seekgames which go so well in the twilight of course how well they would go depended on how old you were - or don't you remember? " I stopped in to .see the. little shop on Hamilton St. - The Bay Leaf - and was most pleasantly surprised. Each newcomer received a package of that beautiful herb' the bay leaf.. What a nice idea. I just love the smell of the bay leaf ' in stews or whatever ,you add it to. Nothing seems to compare -with this aroma OR flavor. Besides some nature foods, as they are called, The Bay Leaf carries a terrific variety of gadgets for the kitchen - or • perhaps I should just say the HOME, because I have seen bright shiny *nets made into • attractive lamps and you can take a, variety of rings from this' stock for a • Fant °,tic wall hanging. Not long ago heard about visits that our .Pee Wee and Bantam Hockey teams were wt - changing with the Ddarborn Michigan teams. I thought it was a wonderful idea and Tom Hoad, who started it' all has' probably 'been thanked many,' many ti•ms - or did you forget? The only drawback on this exchange is that 'there is not quite enough time to show the kids around - or, as when our kids go to Dearborn, there are so many things there to see and DO - and not enough time for it. Here is a great idea - (thanks Mike). On May 8 and 9 evenings 7:30 early, at the G.D.C.I. sessions will._be open for eight different interests - and for goodness sake take ad- vantage of them.
