The committee heldits first meeting and elected an - executive. The •exec;utive member; are Maureen • Hill, Eddie Giesbreeht, ,Dianne Morrisseu; David Ross and Joan' Van- denBr-oeck. The first job the new group has to tackle is to get informed - on a re -cycling program. To educate and inform the com- mittee is the 'first step, the secgrad is to educate and inform the public: This,, is the mam- moth job that will require the. instructors to know all the facets 'of,.the,program and•to be able to effectively implement them. To begin the .project the members- feel that they wilt - start with paper ie -cycling. A critical shortage of paper and the difficulty in re -using glass prompted the decision.' To re -cycle glass title bottles have to be cleaned, have all the. metal, removed and then crushed, which is the most in - 'volved step in the process. Anyone saving glass in Goderich is advised to take it 'to the London Fire Depart - merit, any hall, and °they ,will dispose of it for • vou. Other towns in the area face the same problem, he said. He expressed • confidence, however, that qualified persons Sailors prepare for races In preparation for this year's racing season, the Goderich Sailing Club will hold warm-up races May 5 and 12. The season officially begin May 19 with spring series races.
