Recycling committee
plans. paper program
For the Goderich' residents
we . have been watching, for
• news on the proposed re -cycling
committee there. is a ray of
hope. The committee heldits
first meeting and elected an -
executive.
The •exec;utive member; are
Maureen • Hill, Eddie
Giesbreeht, ,Dianne Morrisseu;
David Ross and Joan' Van-
denBr-oeck.
The first job the new group
has to tackle is to get informed -
on a re -cycling program. To
educate and inform the com-
mittee is the 'first step, the
secgrad is to educate and inform
the public: This,, is the mam-
moth job that will require the.
instructors to know all the
facets 'of,.the,program and•to be
able to effectively implement
them.
To begin the .project the
members- feel that they wilt -
start with paper ie -cycling.
A critical shortage of paper
and the difficulty in re -using
glass prompted the decision.'
To re -cycle glass title bottles
have to be cleaned, have all the.
metal, removed and then
crushed, which is the most in -
'volved step in the process.
Anyone saving glass in
Goderich is advised to take it
'to the London Fire Depart -
merit, any hall, and °they ,will
dispose of it for • vou.
