ROUND AND AB.O'UT ViFT MARTHA
We have surely had a variety
orweather before the winter is
chased off. Today the sun 'is
shining and the temperature is
rising, tiny violets are peeking
.thru'. the grass and the grass is
greening thru' last fall's cut-
tings.
After the high winds and
torrential rains which accom—
panied the Dublin Hurricane,'
we are all anxious.to begin the
Spring chores -- or ANYTHING
-- as long as the sun will shine.
The Lake, is clear of ice, I
gather that there was not too
much since Goderich had such
'a mild winter, so it is niee to
see 'the Lakers corning In add

going out once again.
Every Spring I mention the
violets, since everywhere that
sod that has been settled for a
few years you will find,othese
wee flowers underfoot,
This is one of the first things
that sold me on Goderich
'and I've been bragging about -it
ever since. The Crocus'are out
"in their marfi colors and the
'tiny Snowdrops are blooming
like crazy. '
There is no great flooding of
the Maitland, in our area, as it
struggles .,to enter the- Lake
Huron. I hear the delta has
built up again to a serious'
'height •and .• some are just
hoping it will "go way" without ,
any trouble.
I well recall the first spring
we were here when the ice took
great chunks out of the pier
because of the buildup at
THAT time.

HELLO!
It was good to see you Thur-
sday morning at "Women's
Day Out". Dr. Tony Miller
was so keen about his topic
"Creative Parenting" that he
-was ready to start at 9:30 a.m.
He had time t.o discuss some
-personal problems with in-
dividual mothers while others
arrived with their smiling tod-
dlers.
The babies in ear beds told
tots up to 2 years were cared
,for in ttae St. George's, Parish
Church Nursery by Mrs. Chris
Bryant, Mrs. Barbara McWhin-
nie and Volunteer Mothers. -
The 3 year 'olds and up were
supervised in a programme of
games, puppets, stories, play
dough, 'toys and Easten bunnies.,
by Mrs. Laurie Load and Mrs.
Sandra Billson.
While talking to Tony it was
suggested that because "Paren- V'
ting" was such .:an important
subject -and so few of us have
any training on how to become
a parent, a series of discussions
could be planned when both
mother and' father- could at-
tend. Different facets of the'
'subject could be dealt, with by
Goderich resource people
deeply interested in family
development.
it you are' interested in par:
ticipating in such a family
development discussion group,
give us a call so that a planning
group can get under way.
This Thursday, April 18th,
we 'intend to play 'children's
games . in__t he _Fun _ and.. Fitness ,
period, before we get down to
the serious business of
d'isc'ussing "Wills" with Mr.
Paul Rivers.
• The news .media is stressing
that fewer and more expensive
•vegetables will be in the market
places, this year. • There are 2
ayays of solving this problem.
