A meeting of' the Goderich
- Garden' Club Executive Com-
mitte was held at the_horine of
Miss Helen Videan'"on.-..Wed-
neaday, January ldth. Present
at' the meeting were Miss Helen
Videan, president; Mrs, Beryl
Harper, vi=ce-president; Mrs.
''Maureen. Hill, secretary;, Mrs;
Susan' Gower; treasurer„','M•'s.
Jean Findlayson; membership
chairman and Mrs. Jean Bar-
nett; junior advisor.
The main purpose of the
meeting : was to review . the
club's' activities for 1974,which
will be finalized in "aforth-
corning meeting with the Board
members ,on Wednesday,
February 13th. •
Other discussion at the
meeting included the executive
committee's concern over” ;thew
cutting down of •trees in the
Court House Square. Members
were cancerrted over the num-
ber -of trees being cut down, and
if they were all being replaced
by new trees.. It was left that
the matter should be in-
vestigated further.
A new venture for the
Goderieh Garden Club this
year will be the Junior Garden
Club •under the supervision of
Mrs: Jeart- Barnett. 'The em-
phasis here is to interest
children "in flowers and
vegetable gardening.
The -late August flower show
is to be reintroduced in 1974:
In thanks for the use of, the
County Court House Council
Chamber that'is used ,annually
by the Goderich Garden Club
.• to display flower arrangements,
'the- club his ins
tending •to contribute to 'the
Court House, two ' planters
quite -probably to be located on
-the fright of steps leading from
the south entrance door to the
council chamber. The Garden

was attached to the gown and
. she wore an elbow -length veil.
She.°carried a bouquet of white
daisiesaround which orange,
velvet ribbon was intertwined.

was maid of thorrr. She wore a
floor•length empire -styled gown.

For her' wedding trip the

neck sweater with brown plaid
slacks, brown blazer and a cor.-
sage of yellow sveetheart roses.

ber of the Paukric who passed
away last month, was -conduc-
ted 'by MrS. Frank Raithby.

troduced the guest 'speaker,
Don Pullen, Huron., County-
Agricultural Representative for
the Department of Agriculture
and Food.
Mr. Pullen spoke on
agriculture as it is carried on
today 'in the county and -told
about the various departments
that are ava ,fable to the far-
mer. He showed pictures, of
"Our ,Heritage" - a colorful
film on Huron.County and the
planning. taking place in Huron
County - how land can be used
to help all mankind.

behalf of the rhembers'presen-
ted him with a gift," •
It " was agreed that the
Branch be in charge of the
-H{ironview'May Birthday party
on May 15th.
Members decided to buy a
new flag for the Town Hall. A
letter. was . read from C.A.S.
outlining details concerning the
•H.uron. County` Bursary Fund
and` one from F W.LO. for the
donation -of $100 to the Mary
'Pardo Memorial *Fund.
