IMyour asswimisme.(3740 41, ROBERTSON ROUNDUP The students itt grades kin- dergarten .to three are writing letters to Santa Claus grades four to six are making Christ- mas circle, and grades 'seven and eight are writing essays for the Signal -Star. Look for them in this paper. ; The students in Miss Bon* thron's class have been making Christmas wreaths with tissue paper and cardboard backing. Before Christmas vacation the wreaths will be finished and taken home to decorate the houses at this joyous time of the ,year. • We hope -that all the people who attended our Christmas Assembly were well entertained by the Junior students who worked very hard with their teachers to present this fine performance. Decorations have made the school look much brighter for Christmas. The students are getting more restless as the holidays draw nearer. The pupils will be dismissed at two thirty on Friday the twenty- first. The report cards were distributed to the children on Wednesday. For those who failed the term we hope -they will put an effort into achieving higher marks. The students who received good marks will be praised by their parents, teachers and fellow students. • Team five won the school volleyball championship. The allstar volleyball team has been picked. The members are Terry Schweitzer, Mike Burley, Bill Ross, Mike Milley, Chris Wood. John Brown, Shannon Noblock, Randy Lamb, Rocky Wells, Steve Meriam, Perry Tichart and 13ick Rawson. Rexdale firm to use local beach for project use Dufferin Steel Ltd:- of Rex - dale Ontario were given per- mission last Thursday evening by Goderich Town Council to assemble equipment bound for the Bruce Generating Station, near Port Elgin, at St. Christopher's Beach beginning in April and launch it from that point sometime in late June. The unit, which is being manufactured in Rexdale, is described by the company as a "large intake structure". Permission was granted to assemble the unit on the rocky section of shoreline at .St. Christopher's Beach, past the railway station, and *well beyond the pavilion. Dufferin Steel said the work would be carried out away from the bathing section of the beach. ,The agreement, drawn up in meetings between council and the company on December 12 provide that Dufjerin Steel will clean up all litter and,,,debris and leave the location in as tidy a condition as at the start of work. ' After launching, the struc- ture will be towed by tug to the Generating Station for incor- poration in that complex. Mrs. John Kelly who passed away on Sunday, "December 16 at the Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home in Lucknow in her 86 year. The former "Elizabeth Ann Cassidy, she wan born in County Tyrone, Ireland on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 1888° She obtained work in New York and there she met her husband, John Kelly. They were married in November ,1910 and went to Ireland and in 1929 came to Canada, making their home in Saskat- chewan, Alberta. They moved to Kingsbridge in 1936, where they farmed. • Sha was predeceased by her husband in February, 1969 and is survived by four daughters; Mrs. Mary Essery of Goderich, Mrs. Winnie Hurley of Fort McMurray, Alberta, Mrs. Eileen Wocks of Schomberg, Ontario and Mrs. Bridget Hodgins of Sarnia. Also five sons; James of Sudbury, Joseph of Camrillo, California, Daniel of Brigden, Ontario, Patrick of Holyoke, Massachusetts, and Walter of London, 26 grand- children and two great grand- children. Mrs. Kelly was well known in this . area for her musical abilities, singing, playing the violin and- the accordion, per- forming at .Christmas Concerts and other .entertainments. She has been a patient at the Pinecrest Manor Nursing Home since 1971. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 19 at St. Joseph's -church ' in Kingsbridge with Rev. Father Ed. Dentinger, C.R. officiating. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers were her six grandsons; Danny and David Kelly, Gerald. and John Wocks,._ Glen Kelly, and Glen Hodgins. t'lowerbearers were grand- children: Jacklyn, Eileen and Freddie Wocks, Grace and Karen Kelly, Lynn and Carol Hodgins and Maureen Kelly. Soloists were Eugene Frayne and his daughter Marianne, ac- companied by Marianne at the church organ. Readings were made by Peter Frayne. The of- fering was taken up by Mr. and Mrs. Jim Kelly, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Kelly, Walter Kelly and Mrs. Winnie Hurley. Those from a distance atten- ding the wake at the McCallum Funeral.
