Accompanied by the Com- modore of the Goderich Sailing Club, Jack Elder and last )ear's Commodore, George Robertson, Mr. Carroll outlined three steps which could be taken to improve the harbour. A detailed brief was given to the councillors describing The proposed renovations. The Sailing Club suggested that the repairs be done in a three-step plan as. it would "provide a minimum of disruption, at the harbour during the summer Beason and provide a progression of improvements economically". Mr. barroll pointed out through the use of charts that die original dock lies under-" rater -due to the high lake level. He also mentioned that many of the slip -docks were worn and that perhaps a new type, not metal, may be in- stalled to prevent them wearing out. He proposed a starting date M April but said F that he realized the actual .date of renovations would be left to the finished with his presentation, Council. - Councillor Clifford pointed out He also stressed the impor- that the suggestions just -made tance of retaining beach and were very similar to that of Mr. greenareas around the harbour Does, design engineer for the for appearance sake and hoped Department of Public Works in that a dinghy park would be London. kept.
