PHARMACY Conestoga College Clinton Centre EI iNo WE At this time of year.. everything is hustle -bustle. The very frosty weather is no- help or encouragement for shopping but the bright sun and sky soon makes up your mind 'and you join the crowd. Soon it, is fun.- you meet so many people who are the same as you: a slow starter: I don't know why some of this rush and excitement can't -be spread out over the year in- stead,of concentrating it into a couple of short weeks. Oh - you say it can be spread out - you shop for Christmas ALL year? Heck, I can't see any fun .in Here, beneath the lamplight's glow, we gather to joyously sing out, "Hello," To you and all those you hold dear, a holiday Oiled with lots of cheer! that. When, I buy.something - or make something I have to give it right away - at once - or3,m sooner. The chances are ten to one by the -little Dec. 25 came, the gift would no longer be suitable - or they"would already have one just like it or I would have lost my enthusiasm about it and would go and buy something different. What I'd like to have is a shop that these folks could visit, then, on the spur of the moment, I could give -them the thing they oo-ed and aww-ed about most.. • Oh well, we can't all be per- fect, can we? But since this is the Festive Season - it is just great to join in and have fun. This is another thing - the fun parties seem to be all packed into one short month and you: can surely overdo it. The Christmas parties start with the Santa Parade. From then on there is one or two every week which means you either' belong to too many groups or you are a glutton for punishment - the way.i see it - anyway. In this week I have four,par- ties and you can bet I'll break my neck - (or Walt will) to go to all of them. Later I hope to do some loafing. The act of loafing, 1 am told, is relaxing the tension of your body - and mind, slowing down enough to see what is hap- pening around you and being able to pause - or collapse - whenever you feel like it. THAT'S what I'm going to do - COLLAPSE - Fall apart - blow. my mind - and relax. So have a wonderful Christmas. If the ribbons or tissue on your gifts aren't too elaborate, don't worry about it. There are only certain kinds• of people who ever see the cover. The gift is what counts. - Or rather the THOUGHT that goes with it. Love, Martha TH CF ,NE '1 SINCE 1950 .
