Sunday morning. Luckily
neither one was" i-njured.
Mrs. John Kelly passed away
at the Pinecrest Nursing Home
in Lucknow on Sunday, Decem-
ber 16th. Her body will rest at
the McCallum Funeral Home
in Goderich and burial will be
on Wednesday morning at St.
Joseph's, Kingsbridge.
Mrs. Jack VanOsch , is a
patient in the Wingham and
District General Hospital.
VOLLEYBALL
Girls and Boys Volleyball
Teams of St. Joseph's school at
Kingsbridge were bused to the
Volleyball Tournament 'at the
F.E. Ma'aill. Secondary School
in Wingham on Saturday.
In the girls first- game, they
played against Blyth and won.
In the second game ,they
played Wingham Sacred Heart'
and were beaten. They also lost
in the third game which was
against the Brussels Girls.
The Kingsbridge boys 'won in
games against Gray Central
and Wingham Sacred Heart
but were beaten by Wingham
Central and Ripley, Fourteen
schools - took part in this
Voliyball tournament.

Christ Child. Mrs: Gerald

reading portions of scriptures
relating to the Christmas story.
These were interspersed, with
Christmas hymns.
Mrs. Arnold Cook dressed as
the senior angel and Mrs. Peter
Verbeel -as - the junior angel
made the Christmas story conte
to life as she explained to the
junior member that the Christ
Child had one day visited earth
and how He had been received.
As the story was being told in
the darkened room a light was
shown behind the screen.on the
earth by Mrs. Lawrence Plaet-
This inspiring presentation
was closed with the words, "Do
we act like we are on a visited
planet, especially on the an=
niversary of His coming _� to
Earth?"
Mrs. Gerald McDowell
closed with prayer. The offering
was received by Mrs. Beth Lan-
sing and Mrs. Robert Arthur
and dedicated with prayer.
A- social half hour was en-
joyed with the members and
their guests from other
congregations.

held their Christmas meeting at..

The recent "Name Contest"
held by the Maitland Valley
Conservation Authority
resulte 1 in some 35 possible
names being submitted for- the
parcel of land which has been
acquired b'y" the Authority in
East Wawanosh Township.
According to the Authority
,.the response from public school
students involved was "tremen-
dous" and the suggegtions were
all "most interesting -and ap-
pealing".
Although Authority members
termed it a "difficult decision"
it was eventually'decided that
the first place prize money of
$15 would go to Kim McDowell
of- RR 1- Belgrave •for the
suggested- title "Wawanosh
Valley Conservation Area". As
a result Kim's suggestion will
become the official title of the
land.
Second prize money of $10
went to Sharon Carter of RR 3
