NOVICE ALL-STARS LEGiOf' LADIES AUXILIARY On Saturday December 15, the locals stepped up against stiffer competition than they have played in the past and tame out on the short end of a 2.1' score agaist Byron. The team worked hard all game long and should have deserved I tie. Darrin Moore scored . the only Goderich goal with Todd Rittinger and Daryl Madge assisting. Jeff Denomme was a standout in goal, and John Kloss, Fraser Abbott, Todd Rittinger, Daryl-,. Madge also played a very strong game. The teams next outing is Saturday, Decemher 22 when another strong team by the name of Huron East will be in. Game time is 5:45 p.m. - NOVICE HOUSE LEAGUE between Glenmark Homes and Kentucky Fried Chicken, Rob. Jeffrey led the attack with two. goals., Glenmark Homes won 3 to 1 is David MacDonald got the other goal. Drawing assists • .in the game were Greg; Mar shall with two, Stephen Boyce, Steve Dobie, Dennis Kerr and Robert Willis each with one assist. Paul Meriam picked up Kentucky Chickens lone goal as Steve Sager and Jim O'Neil set him up. Legion team will be called Mclntee Real Estate starting first of the year, won one to nothing over Goderich Electric. Mark Hunter got the only goal for the winners as Lou DeWin- ter and Donald Kloss set him up. Pat Bissett picked up another shutout. In Saturday's games Glen - mark Homes held on to defeat Goderich Electric 3-2 and' in the second game Kentucky Fried Chicken edged the Legion 2-1. Steven Boyce picked' up two goals for Glenmark Homes and Rob Jeffrey got the other goal. Neil Coughlan, Greg Mar- shall, Joey Burbine and Dennis Kerr all drew assists. Scoring for Goderich Electric Tom Profit and Mike Evans. Jim Mathers and Michael Madden had assists. - Lou DeWinter scored the loan goal for the Legion as Marty Middle 'set him up. Kentucky Fried Chickens two goals were scored. by Chris Knox and Brian Shor- treed. . Gardiner's Dairy continued their hot streak on Monday December, 10, as they defeated Bedford Hotel 2-1. Darrin Moore's goal on the assist of Steve Profit broke a 1-1 tie in. the third period to give his team the edge. Earlier, John Peters had scored for Gardiners with Cliff Jardine assisting but the Bedford came back on a goal by Todd Rittinger with the assist going to Jamie Daer. The -win moved the Gardiner team into second place. Friday, December 14 Graham Electric edged Bedford Hotel, 4- 1. David-Gallow had tWa goals and an assist, to lead 'the Wily. Frazer Abbott and Paul Jeffrey scored the other two Graham goals with David Ruxton assisting on Abbotts goal. Todd Rittinger led the Bedford team Kith two goals. Brent Fisher •red the other. Todd Graham existed on the second Rittinger goal. ° On Saturday, .December)15, Gardiner's Dairy edged Graham Electric 2-1 in a closely fought contest. Graham Electric started fast as Dave Callow scored in the first minute. However, Jim Reynolds came back for Gar - diner's to tie the game. Grant arrow - assisted. John Peters gyred in the second period rem Darrin Moore which roved to be the winner. On Saturday morning December 15, the Novice Power skaters, the' ones who passed the course, received their Power Skating I Badges. We'd like to thank •Paul Schutz and Don Elliott for doing such a fine job teaching these boys. The boys will now be placed on teanukafter the first otthe year and will receive their team sheets and, schedule on Thur- adaY Dec. 20. Those who do not receive a sheet may have a chance to pick up one'at their practise on Sat. The Novice House League Trill have two new very capable men to be conveners after January 1. Bill Stanbury and AI Sumner.- Parent co- operation with the new con- veners will be ' appreciated, specially when the teams are being balanced for the first two of three weeks. Cltib Grill opened the scoring as Terry Schoemaker scored unassisted, Sifto, Salt tied. the game on Tom Finchers goal. By the end of the second period the game was still tied two all as Club Gril's John Bird scored from Terry Schoemaker and, Steve Walter got the equalizer from Bill Shewfelt for Sifto Salt. In the third period Club Grill went ahead 3-2- as Terry Shoemaker got his second goal of the night. Doug Cruikshank got ` two ,quick goals and Jim ur 1,4.Th e``final Sifto goal to gh "'them the win. Monday in the second game on December 10th, Goderich Motors blanked Goderich Restaurant 3 to 0 as Wayne Jackson and Eric Skirten- each picked up two points, Wayne with two goals and Eric with one goal and an assit. Harold Sartori registered a shut -out for Goderich Motors who will be called Lionel's Sunocos come the first of the year. Goderich ' Motors goalie Harold Sartori picked up his second shut -out of the week as they won 2-0 over Sifto Salt.. Eric Skirton set up both goals which were scored in the first period by Wayne 'Jackson and Terry Kisch. Second game could have went either way as Goderich Restaurant led -2-1 on goals by Philip Brown and Ted Doherty, early in the second period,' but John Bird tied ,the game for Club Grill and Randy Stoddart scored what provedto be .the winning goal. Final score 3-2 for Club Grill over Goderich Restaurant. Picking up assists in the game was Gerrard Gwyn and Larry Gaynor for Club Grill and for Goderich Restaurant Robert Pinkney and David Moore. lc GODERICH LIONS PEE WEES Byron Pee Wees travelled to Goderich Saturday .night . to meet the Goderich Lions Pee Wees. The highlight of the hockey game for the Lions was the teams' passftig plays. Good passing on the part of the whole Goderich club was the key to their 8 to 0 victory over Byron. Steven Arbour picked up two goals and one assist in the game with Larry Madge assisting on one. Also scoring twice for the Lions were Roger Lewis and Larry Daer with linen ste Larry McGee assisting both Lewis goals and Bill Peters assjsting one for Daer. Jim" Costello set the puck into an open corner of the Byron net on a well executed three-way passing play .from' 'linemates Robert McDonald and Larry Madge. Robert McDonald also , scored one for the Goderich Lions. Playing a strong defen- sive game throughout for the Goderich Pee.Weeay was Danny Maillet. Future. dates will be announ- ced. Monday, December 10, Don H'olst Real Estate defeated Goderich' Elevator 6.3. Goderich Elevator toaki S. 2-1 lead on' two first period goals by Brian Reed. Assists were from Tom Sager and Mark Hutchins. Dave Russell scored the first two goals for Don Hoist, both being set up by Mike Jeffrey. Rick Stoddard and Fred Jewell also got two goals each .for Don Hoist Real Estate. Mike Jeffrey set, up two of these goals, and Fred Jewell drew an assist on %Stoddard's goal. Scoring the third goal for Goderich ,. Elevator was Ian Chisholm; assisting him was Wayne Graham. Tuesday's game between McGee G.M. Parts and Goderich Elevator ended in a 3 -all tie. McGee G.M. Parts' goal scorers were Pat Kelly, Mike King and Roy Fisher. Drawing assists were -Dale Duncan, Jacques Richard; Leroy Meriam and Mike Milley. Getting the goals for Goderich Elevator were. Mike Lapaine, Tom Sager and - Wayne Graham. 'Assisting, were Hugh Hanly, Brian Reid and Tim Atfield. Thursday's game Don Hoist Real Estate blew a 2-0 lead and lost to Goderich Elevator 4-3. No details available. POLICE FALCONS BANTAM ALL-STARS Playing in Seaforth, Tuesday evening, December 11, the Police Fdlcons held on to defeat Seaforth 4-3. In the first period, Paul Schaefer opened the scoring at the 9:13 mark. The assist came from Tim McLean; before the end of the period, Rob Doig tied the genre for Seaforth. Goderich got the only 2nd period goal as° Tim McLean deflected Ed Court- ney's shot to give the Falcons a 2-1 lead. Seaforth again tied the score as Doig opened the scoring in the third period. Goderich Police . Falcons got two quick goals, both unassisted, as Don Kirkconnell scored at. the 3:05 mark and Bill Walters at 5:08 to give them. a 4.2.lead. Seaforth again applied the pressure, and Doig got his third goal, of the evening. Final score _ 4.3 for Goderich. Both goalies -, were outstanding in the nets. -, Police Falcons Bantam All - Stars got 5 unansweredgoals plus a combination shut -out by Paul Duckworth and John Page on Saturday Dec, 15- to defeat Hensall 5-0 in Goderich. In the first period Tim McLean opened the scoring as Don Kirkconnell and Ben Worsell picked up the assists. Bill Lewis knocked in Peter Crews pass as Tim McLean started the play. Goderich got;, two more goals in the second as Paul Schaefer and Bili -Lewis got the second of the game. Gary Peters and Steve Chase drew assiste on Paul's goal and Lewis's goal was unassisted. Steve Chase got the only goal in the final period, Iain Lambert assisted.
