Birch Bait Park getsgrant
The new Birch Bark Trailer
Park _has received one of five
Ontario Development Cor-
poration tourist industry loans
• to help devop the park than
will include 100 trailer sites.
Last . sumnler, the owners
started the 'work by installing
sewers and putting together
enough facilities so they were
able to open for a few weeks
starting the lest week in
August.
Ivan Luther of Grand Bend
is one of the owners. He hopes
the rest of the work can be com-
pleted to enable them to open
next spring with the intention
n.
of operating year round, as
some of the lots will be win-
terized, -
"Thpt loan is just a' portion of
what is being spent, said
Luther. "We're covering a lot of
it ourselves".
The park will eventually
hove a children's outdpor.
recreational play area, ":plus
putting greens and snowmobile
trails for winter guests.
A building has already been
moved to- the area and will, be
used as a country store.1L?own-

give guests something to do
when the weather isn't so
pleasant.
They also hope to install a
swimminL pool, but Mr. Luther
said that the "restrictions are
stiff" and if it is at all feasible,
it won't be installed until at
least spring.
Birch Bark Trailer Park is
located just east of Grand
Bend.
The other loan that was
given in this area went to
Huron .":,Cliffs Ltd. near
Goderich. They will be usipg
their loan to add a swimming
pool to the park and improve
camping services."
