Another three awards win- ner, Ken Mewhinney, R.R. 1 Lucknow, ,who as champion all- round showman, won for him- self the Toronto Dominion Bank award, as champion 4H Beef showman; the Murray Gaunt award; and for his champion shorthorn steer, was - presented with one of the two Stewart Procter awards. The second Procter award given for the champion shor- thorn heifer, went to Chris Procter, R.R. 5 Brussels, a grandson of the late Mr. Proc- ter, to° whom the award com- memorates. One of five sisters who par- ticipated in the Lucknow 4H Calf Club, 12 -year-old Ruth Alton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Walden, R.R. 2 Lucknow, won the award presented by Huron County Warden, Roy V. Pattison, R.R. 3 'Wingham, Ruth had the highest score as a novice mem- ber. Her older sister, Nancy, received the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce award, .(Blyth -Auburn "branch) for holding the highest score in the 4H dairy clubs. Karen Tyndall, R.R. 4 Clin- ton won the J.A. Anstett award for the highest score in 4H beef clubs, and the Huron Hereford Association ,award for the highest score excluding scores on . Hereford Cattle. Karen's sister, Susan Tyndall, captured the Huron Milk Com- mittee award for the top score in dairy judging. Other special awards: Barry Miller, R.R. 3 Exeter, the Huron Hereford Association trophy, for his champion 4H Hereford calf; the Canadian Canners trophy for the highest score in the Exeter Sweet Corn Club, the Cook Divisio of Gerbo Coirporation troph for his championship white an exhibit; and a 4H award certificate for the com- pletion of 24 projects with a 76 percent minimum standing. John Van Vliet, R.R. 2 Brussels, the Huron Pork Producers' Association award for the highest score in the 4H Swine Club and the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (Seaforth branch) award for the champion 4H gilt; Glen McNeil, R.R. 6 Goderich, the A.Y. McLean trophy, as the 411 dairy showman, and a Cyanamid of Canada award, as the top sheep judge; . Barry Gordon, R.R. 1 Seaforth, the Huron Soil and Crop Improvement Association award for outstanding achievement in 4H Field Crop clubs, the Huron County Beef Improvement Association award as the high beef judge; and a 4H award certificate for the completion of 18 projects (minimum standing of 75 per- cent). er- cent). Alan Hern, R.R. 1 Woodham, the Cliff McNeil trophy, for the champion 4H Holstein calf; Robert Pavkeje, R.R. 2, Cen- tralia, Bank of Montreal (Clin- ton) award for the highest score as a first year member of a 4H swine club; Brian Lobb, R.R. 2 Clinton, the Victoria and Grey Trust Co. award as the champion 4H swine showman; John Kinsman, R.R. 2 Kip - pen, the_ Old Mill award, for the highest score in the sheep clubs; Sandy Broadfoot, R.R. 1 Brucefield, the Russell Bolton trophy for his championship corn exhibit; Three North Huron 4H Trailbh'azer trophies all donated by Philip Malcolm, Varna, went -to Cathy Malcolm, Varna, (his daughter), as the top horse showman in the North Huron 4H Hc3rse Club; to Eddie Franken, s R.R. 2 Auburn, as the top pony showman and to Brian Fidom, R.R. 1 Belgrave, as the top colt - showman; The John Franken Memorial • trophy, presented for the first time, was won by Barb Presa- cator, R.R. 1 Exeter, who as a member of the Exeter 4H Horse -Pony Club held the highest score. The trophy was donated by the widow and nine children of the former volun- teer leader of the 4H North Huron Trailblazer Club, prior to his untimely death ;ast year. Donna Hackett, R.R. 7 Lucknow, as the novice with the highest score in judging competition, won the Canadian NatAonal Exhibition shield and Ynze Tiesma, R.R. 4 Clinton, with the highest score in a judging cc.rnpetitior of swine took a C.I.L. trophy. 4H award certificates for the completion of 24 projects also went to Dwight Etherington, R.R. 1 Hensen and Jim Fairles, R.R. 1 Gorrie (75% minimum standing). 4H Club Leaders certificates 'for volunteer service were presented to Maurice Lore, R.R. 3 Exeter, (10 years) /rd Bob McNaughton, R.R. 3 Kip - pen (five years).
