The Goderich Sailors opened
their regular O.H.A. Inter-
mediate C season in good
fashion with a pair of shutout.

In their first regular season
game last Friday in Goderich
they blanked the Seaforth
Beavers 2-0.
At home on Sunday after-
noon, they romped to an easy
13-0 win over the Kincardine
Bulldogs.
In Friday's game, Rick
Sowerby beat Al• Carter with a
wrist shot for the only goal of
the first period at 7:27 from
Jim .Farrish. Denis Lassaline
tipped in Farrish's centering
pass for the other Goderich
goal at 15:12 of the second
period. Steve Doak was also
credited with an assist on the
goal.
The goalies at both ends of
the arena came up with some
fine saves during the game. Al
Carter robbed Jim Hayter on
two breakaways in the second
period and Rob Kellestine
preserved his shutout with two
or three fine goal saves in tfie
final five minutes of the game.
Seventeen penalties were
called in the game with ten
going to Goderich. Seven dif-
ferent players figured in the
Goderich scoring Sunday as
Goderich won their second
straight game by a score of 13-0
over Kincardine last Sunday
afternoon in Goderich.
Frank Hagen led the scoring
parade with three goals and
one assist. Wane Fisher, Tom
Crawford, Ron Miller and Rick
Sowerby each contributed two
goals to the Goderich offence.
Dirk Wolterbeek and Bob Dick
scored the other Goderich
goals.
Goderich broke loose for
eight goals in the final period
after holding a 5-0 lead going
into the third. Chuck Jewell
recorded the shutout ' for
Goderich.
The Sailors next home game
will be tomorrow evening at
home with the Port Elgin
Goodyears.

Provincial Police, Goderich detachment, effective Novem-
ber 12. He comes here from Peterboro where he spent
about eight years as a constable. His family includes his
wile Carolyn and their four children, Lori and Lynn, 12;
Lisa, 9; and Robert, 10. Corporal Taylor replaces Sgt.
Bruce Wheeler on the local staff.
