Councillor Elsa Havdon told
the committee the local police
department • has need of a
fingerprinting room and the.
former business college site has
been eyed for that purpose. She
also noted the firemen as.well
as the building inspector have
expressed interest in the quar-
ters: _.
A suggest ion was made by
Councillor Dave Gower • t.hat
proposals be submitted from
the police, the firemen and the
building inspector so that some
decision can he made for
perhaps a co-operative venture
in the much sought after empty
space. • after.
A Maitland Cemetery Board
overdraft of $3,000was recom-
mended tabled until an ex-
planation 'of the deficit has
been received by council. There
some suggestion by the Ad-
ministrative Committee mem-
bers that poor financing and
over staffing may be con-
tributing to the financial
problems of the cemetery
board.
It was .learned the price” of
lots at Maitland Cemetery have
been lowered to $50 for all. In
the past, plots were sold at $75
for non=residents and $50 for
residents.
Mayor Harry Worsell
suggested that a more
reasonable change might have
been to- raise the price of all
plots to $75 or even $100.
"That's the cheapest land in
town," quipped the mayor.
There was a recommendation
to table the request of the
Maitland Country Club for a
reduction in taxes until the
next committee meeting, More
information on this matter is
expected by then.
•"There is certainly a problem
in the business tax area," said
Chairman Gower who further
suggested he was not fully in
accord with all the terms of the
country club's request for
municipal aksistance.
The Administrative Commit-
tee recommends as well that
the interim account of
• Todgham and Case of Chatham
for their work on the South
Storm Sewer project to date be
paid. ThaP"account is about
$16,000. .
"Seeing as we've hired 'em,
there's nothing to ' do but pay
'em," said Gower.
The recommendation was fora
more study fin the request of
Brenner Mechanical Contrac-
tors for a building permit. The
zoning regulations in that area
of town - Bennett Street east
will have to be checked, the
committee felt.
in other business, it was lear-
ned the Goderich Lions Club is
seeking a $1,000 donation from
the Town in connection with
the 25th anniversary of Young
Canada Hockey Week in
Goderich, It was learned the
money would be used to enter-
tain thfsse who ,,have helped
over the 25 years to make the
tournament a success.
. 'All the business on the
agenda WAS not completed as
some members of council were
..expected to attend the War-
cien's banquet that evening.

Egener of Prest and Egener
came before the Administrative
Committee chaired by Dave
Gower to determine if Delbar
was in breach of an agreement
with the Town of Goderich
regarding their storm sewer
system.
Egener claimed .that while
Delbar was prepared to con-
struct a closed storm sewer at a
cost of about $12,000, there was
no place to dump the water un-
til the South" Storm Sewer is
completed.
Gower said the Town could
not give permission _.f.or.__Debar -
to dump water on private land
owned by Suncoast Estates.. He
said "normal runoff takes its
natural„ course" ,hut added,
_'you are collecting water from
storm.. sewers and dumping
unto Slttncpast".

agreement be°drawn up ibet-
Mrs. Donald Haines, District ween Suncoast an'd':t;Dlbar for
W.I. delegate, Mrs. Thomas dumping water until th'e''South
