Born " October 13, 1909 in Austria to Alexander Sawcher and the former Irene'T'rofen he came to Canada as a young man and lived for 11 years at Bayfield before moving to Clin- ton. He was married to the for. mer Therese Verkoelen. Mr. Sawcher was a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses. He is survived by his wife; three sisters, Mrs. John (Kate) Kostock • of Chatham; Mrs. Joseph (Odokia) Meldrum of Dresden; and Mrs., Peter (Mary) ,Comar of Welland. Services were conducted from Kingdom Hall at Goderich followed by cremation at Woodland Crematorium in London. Pallbearers were Ralph artd Jack Brodie, Jim Lewis and H. Jepperson. GEORGE LINDSAY SMITH George Linday Smith of Bayfield passed ,away in Alexandra Marine and General Hospital in Goderich on Oc- tober 31 after a short illness. He was 65. . Mr. , Smith was born on January 14, 1908 in Bayfield, a son of the )late Richard and Margaret Lindsay. He received his education in Bayfield and for many years he carried the mail as well as farmed: He was a member of the United Church and the Bayfield Orange Lodge LOL No. 24. On October 23, " 1937 he, married the former LRRlu Ruthena Jewell in London, Oh-, conducted the funeral service October 31 for the late Mrs. ~Cora Dorr, formerly of Royal Oak, Michigan, who died Oc- tober. 29 at MatUand Manor following a lengthy illnness. Born at Goderich, to George Washington Church and the former Margaret Feagan she was a resident of Royal Oak, Michigan from 1928 until moving to Goderich in January of c1972. A graduate of Grace Hospital School of Nursing at Detroit she was a registered nurse 'and served as a nurse during World War One. Mrs. Dorr was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. • She was predeceased by her husband, Fred Dorr, in 1963. She is survived by a 'sister and ' a brother, Mrs. Robert (Hattie) McAllister of Goderich and Carman Church of Mission, Kansas. Interment followed in Oak - view cemetery at Royal Oak, Michigan. J. R. McCLURE4 Rev. Leonard Warr conduc- ted the funeral service Monday, November 5 for the late James Russell McClure who died as the result of an accident on Highway 21 north of Goderich November 2 at the age of 61. Born February 21, -1912 to Robert McClure and the former Ellen Henderson in Hullett Township where he lived until moving to Colborne Township at the age of five. He worked as a farmer and was a member of Benmiller United Church. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Glazier of Clinton and Mrs. Florence Sowerby of Goderich as well as his mother, Mrs. Ellen. McClure ' of Colborne Township. tario. She survives him. Pallbearers were . Russell Kernighan, Neil Lowey, Eric Moore, Leonard and Jim Fisher and Frank McMichael. Interment followed in Colborne Cemetery. MRS. LAURA TOLL Pastor Alfred -.,Fry conducted the funeral service November 2 for the -late Mrs. Laura Emma Toll who died at Huronview on October 30 in her 81st year. Born- September 12, 1893, in Hullett Township to William Stewart and the former Selina Trewin, she was a resident of Hullett Township and Clinton until her marriage. On December 28, 1915 she was married to Frederick William Toll who predeceased her on October '5, 1969. Following her marriage she resided in East Wawanosh Township and later Auburn. Mrs. Toll was a -member of Knox United Church, Auburn, a life member hf the United Church Women and a former member of the -Auburn Women's Institute° She is survived by two 'daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Mar- jorie) McDougall, Auburn and Mrs. Hugh (Amy) MacCrostie, Goderich; two sons, Aubrey of RR 3, Blyth and Stewart of London; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Edith Vincent of Lucknow. Pallbearers were six grand- sons, Vaughan Toll, Terry Toll, Warren Toll, Allan McDougall, Dale MacCrostie and Gordon Gross. Flowerbearers were Tom Cronin, Lloyd Stewart and Clif- ford Adams. Royal conducted the funeral service November 3' for the late William R..Copp, 8570 Wyandotte Street East Windsor, kyhci died October 31 at Hotel Dieu Hospital at the age of 79. Besides his wife, he is sur- vived by one son Ronald Smith of Goderich, one daughter, Mrs. Frank (Margaret) Racheck of Ingersoll and three grand- children. Funeral services were he111 from the Ball Funeral Home in Clinton with Rev. .Fames Red- doch in charge. Burial was in Bayfield Cemetery.
