Town council briefs
The Ontario Housing Cor-
poration has asked Goderich
Town Council about coh,r
possiblity of implemeniik a
HOME (Home Ownership;
Made Easy) program in this
municipality.
The matter would involve
selling land to OHC for housing
developments. Low cost homes
would then be built on the land
and persons buying the homes
would lease the land from OHC
for 99 _years.
"We should look into that,"
said Mayor Harry' Worsell, "to
see if we .have anything suitable
for Ontario Housing's pur-
poses:'
* **.
Deputy -reeve Stan Profit told
council it should give "serious
consideration" to a request
from St. John Ambulance for
financial assistance.
The matter was referred to
the Administrative Committee.

A letter was received from
the (iounxy of Huron requesting
a county representative on the

a member of Huron County
Council, reminded council that
the county parking problems
have been causing difficulties
for years in Goderich..., He
suggested a county represen-
tative was a good idea and fur-
ther, that John Berry was well
qualified to assume the
position since he knew the
court house personnel's parking
problems very -well. p.
Council_ concurred that
Berry's- name=lie a-icept-ed as -a
member of the parking
authority.
