VANDERBURGH Married at Knox Knox Presbyterian Church Goderich was the scene October 5, of a double -ring ceremony uniting Alice Margaret Allen of Goderich and Kenneth George Vanderburgh of Port Albert- in marriage. Officiating at the ceremony was Rev. G.L.„ Royal. of Goderich. The bride is the daughter of the late Mr. -and Mrs. Eric Allen of Goderich. The groom is the sin of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Vander - burgh of Port Albert. Soloist was Mrs. Norman Wills of Don Mills who sang Handers Wedding Hymn and 0 Love Be Dep. The bride was escorted to the alter amidst white tapers in --Tanftelabia— and gold and yellow mums by J.E. Max -man of Bayfield. She wore a full-length gown of white Swiss organza with square neckline, natural waistline and long shepherdess., sleeves caught at the waist by narrow cuffs trimmed with guipure lace. To complete her bridal outfit, she wore a cathedral length veil trimmed with matching lace caught ii4'13/ by a daintx. Juliet cap. The. bride carried a white Bible covered with orange roses, baby's breath and white car- nations. Attending the bride were matron of honor, Mrs. Della Rodges, sister of the bride. Goderich, and bridesmaids Nrrss Jane Bolus, . Burlington and Mrs. Joan Simpson, Lon- don, and Mrs. Lynda McNee, Goderich. Th.2. attendants wore floor - length gowns of orange and gold organza with empire bodices, square necklines and trimmed with' Swiss' guipure -----fErre-Trradr-----trf- white. organza. The laced sleeves' were puffed at the elbow and delicately gathered to a cuff. They wore yellow and gold daisy mums in their hair and carried natural wood wicker baskets. of 'yellow and gold daisy mums with sprigs of fall wheat. Best man was Ken McNee of Goderich. Ringbearers were nephews of the groom, Corey Yundt, Bracnalea, and Rohhie Pestell, MOnkton. Ushers were Bob McWhinney and Roger Pentland, both of Nniannon, and Fred Ander- son of Detroit. The ,wedding dinner ser- ved at the Bedford Hotel while the reception was held at the Saltford Valley Hall where guests were welcomed by the bride's mother, Mrs. .Jessie ,,McMillan in a floor -length French blue polyest0-.. gown with slyer accessories and a ,corsage of pink roses. Mrs. McMillan was assisted by the groom's mother who wore a floor -length red crepe gownblaMi accessories and a corsage of. miniature white carnations. For a wedding trip to French River, .Northern Onjario, the bride wore a powder blue coat and dress with a corsage of baby pink roses. Mr. and Mrs. V,nderburgh are residing at the Meneset Mobile Park, Goderich. Prior to her marriage, the bride was guest of honor at many events in her honor.- A shower was given at the home,. of Mrs. Ray Mothers in Goderich by the nursing staff at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital. Another shower was given at the home of Mrs. Barrie Walter asSisted by Mrs. Gerald Walter, Mrs. Walter Hicks and -Miss Norma Walter for neighbors in rhe corn- . munity. Mrs. Ken McNee was the hostess for a shower at the home -of Mrs. William Reed for the Junior Farmer Girls. A shower was held at the home of Mrs. Irene Vanderburgh' given by her daughter for friends and relatives in the Port Albert community. There was a presentation by the Taylors Corner Community Club at the home of Mrs. Ben Whitely for the couple'. Guests of honor at the wed- ding were Dr. and Mrs, Angus MAcInnes, Medicine Hat, Alberta. by T.D. The G 1)C1 iumor Vikings football team came up with a key victor‘ here last Thursdo, defeating . The Vikings met , first place South Huron again in Exeter 11 Tuesday in a sudden -death semi-final game The winner of that gaioe will meet the winnm,E 'of the Central Huron -Stratford Northwestern senl-fmal in the Charnimmship game SatlIrda% in Exeter at 12 00 noon Coaches Phil Rugler and Hill Garrow felt their charges displayed their !..trongest effort of the season in dumping the 'previously undefeated 'mina - Panthers. The teams battled through a scoreless first half, but .• the, Vikings gut on the scoreboard' with a third quarter touchdown The unsuccessful convert started looking big in the h ii r 1 h quarter when Exeter '.4t'1a 1oud-1(19w n on it ;JO vard pass and run play. The convert wAs good • and the Vikings trailed by one. With just 20 seconds left in rhe game, Viking quarterback lain Lambert kicked a twenty ‘ard field goal into a strong cross wind to win the game for t fie,G.I) C.1 team. Going into Tuesday's semi- final, coach Bugler felt the junior Vikings had a good ,hance to upset the favoured, Pa 111 hers, even though t he Exeter team has lost only once 01 home in the .last four years. The one time was to the. Vikings last season. Our FALL was one to remember. The flowers are glowing un- der the snow arid a lot of the trees have not shed their leaves. The country is still beautiful with gay colors and a touch of white added. Naturally there has been a rash of accidents - slippery roads etc. and this morning - Tuesday - Walt was stuck in a snow drift for an hour. How about THAT. I'll bet I the air was blue - and not a shovel or shoveller in sight. I have the feeling that the winter is going to he a big °ice - and someone is liable to say 'Let's get going -- now! This Saturday afternoon the Arthur Circle have their Bazaar. Christmas gifts and treats and that nice Cuppa with fruit bread makes a nice break. Wednesday Nov. 14 that great fowl supper at Victoria Street United Church. 6.30 p.m. Wed. Nov. 14', also, 2.30 p.m. the Holmesville U.C.W. Bazaar at the White- Carnation.. This too is always a MUST - Just pray for nice weather.
