The G.D.C.I. junior Vikings
lost their second game of the
season in Stratford last Thur-
sday, dropping a 22-14 decision
to the Northwestern Huskies.
The loss leaves the junior
Vikings with a three win, two
loss record going into today's:
final game here- against Exeter.
This game is a must for
coaches Phil Bugler and Bill
Garrow's squad if they are to
ensure themselves of a •playoff
position. The junior Vikings
have actually won four games,
but an early season victory over
St. Marys was wiped out when
St. Marys withdrew from the
league.
The junior Vikings had their
chances early in Stratford but
had an 80 yard touchdown run
by quarterback Iain Lambert in
the first quarter called back
because of a tripping call. They
also failed to score when they
had the ball on the North-
western four yard line in the
The Vikings came to life in
the fourth quarter when Tom
O'rien scored the first Viking
touchdown on an end run.
However, Northwestern came
back with another touchdown
by Self, with a two point con-
version by Doug Anderson.
A late game touchdown by
Lee Arbour and a two point
conversion on a pass from Lam-
bert to Bill Gauley put the

Board of Directors of Huron
`County Playhouse near Grand

Council last week to .request
$2,000 in a grant toward the
theatre endeavor.
Tuckey told council that
while it was forward thinking
to plan for the possible Lake
Huron Parkway to attract
tourists to the area, it was im-
portant to have something to
hold the interest of the visitors
once they have arrived. That's
where services such as Huron
County Playhouse come in.
Attendance at the Playhouse
increased by 60 percent this
year, according to Tuckey. He
said attendance would have to
go up by at .least that much
again this coming season.
He described the ,...0. / nd_
Bend theatre effort as "behind
the eight ball" where finances
are concerned and urged the
county to give consideration to
the group's request for ad-
ditional funding for the coming
year.
