A 17 -year-old Walton youth
escaped a erioua injury Saturday
morning when the car he was
driving smashed into the CPR
Bridge on Highway 21, at the
outskirts of Goderich.

Walton, was northbound when
the steering mechanism in his_

car failed. He lost control of the
vehicle, which came to rest on
the west side of the road,
against the bridge railing. ,
A 15 -foot ',section . of the
railing was torn off, and the
Rammelto vehicle was for-
tunate not: to go off the edge of
the 30 foot high bridge.
Hully Gully results
Keith Vessair of Honey Har-
bour Ont., took home tops of
the 'day award last Sunday at
the Snowmobile Drag Races at
Hully Gully.
Vessair, driving an Alouette,
placed first in "C" and "D"
Modified and took second in
the open modified class.
Top lady of the day went to
Gwen Walsh of Dutton driving

A surprise party was
arranged by their chile4ren,
Wendy and Vicky (both WN.'s
at St. Joseph's Hospital, Lon-
don) and Carol and Steven who
attend GDCI.
Fifty guests, relatives, friends
and neighbours were waiting
and the surprise, to the delight
of everyone-, was genuine.

The s.rmpathy of the com-
munity is extended to the
families of ,the late Brian
Mabon who passed away sud-
denly as the- result of an ac-
cident, and Chester McPhee, a
well khown and highly
esteemed Colborne Township
resident for many years.
They received many gifts,
dome of them big ones, when
relatives and neighbours ban-
ded together.
The Moore home was
decorated in white nd pink
with the silver bells Featured.
Mrs. Chase modelled her
wedding gown and they ex-
changed matched wedding
rings, each set with a single
diamond. Later.., the bride
changed to- a blue floor -length
gown.
The Chase family have lived
in Goderich all their married
lives, excepting two years early
in their marriage spent in
Saskatchewan.
Mr. and Mrs. Chase were
married by Rev. L. Turner at
Victoria Street Church in 1948.
Her attendants were sister
(Kabel) Mrs. Gerald Schutz,
who was unable to attend the
party, and her twin sister
(Donna) Mrs. Fred Young of
Dungannon.
Mrs. Chase was the former ,
Yvonne Moore, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Moore,
both now deceased.
