Toronto. The honeymoon is
being spent in Britain, on a
leisurely tour of the southefi
shires. They also hope to meet
their cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Len
Biloy of Detroit who are also in
Britain for a short holiday.
Mrs. Mel Reed of Dungan-
non has in her possession , a
medal which was won by her
uncle, Charles Girvin Jr. for
skills in ploughing at a
ploughing match held in
Lucknow.
Exact date of the medal's
presentation is not known. It
was donated by Dr. Garner of
Lucknow as first prize and was
_enscribed on both sides. On the
donor's side it mentioned Dr.
Garner's name and stated "to
be won twice in Lucknow."
On the winner's side, it was
enscribed "won by Charles Gir-
vin .,Jr., Wawanosh, Speed the
Plough."
Mr. Girvin formerly resided
1/2 mile north of Nile, in West
Wawanosh, on the farm now -
occupied by Wilmer Rutledge.
4H OF DUNGANNON
The sixth ,meeting of the
Dainty Diners met at Donna
Snyder's home, October 9.
Linda Culbert 'opened. the
meeting with the 4H pledge.
Tammy MacDonald read the
secretary's report and Dorothy
Culbert was chosen for next
secretary.
After discussion on Food
Customs in the Scandinavian
countries the hand-out sheets
were filled in. Everyone en-
joyed making her' own
smorrebrod (open sandwich)
with a variety of breads and
fillings.
Betty Culbert and Lori Pen-
tland will make ginger cookies
for the next meeting at Mrs.
Doris Culbert's October 16.
In the London and District
Soccer Association third
Division, Goderich United
defeated Leo's Distributing of
London by a score of 5-1 Sun-
day in London.
The London team played a
very hard hitting --game trying
to disorganize the boys'. from
Goderich but not being an-
tagonized, the local boys played
game winning soccer.
In the second half . of the
match the game threatened to
get out of hand but the referees
somehow maintained control.
Goal scorers for Goderich
were. John Gottschalk, 2,
Harold Refflinghaus 1, Dave
Graf 1 and Brian Allen with 1.
Goderich United will play
their last game of -the 1973
season this Sunday, Oct. 21 at
Agricultural Park against Lon-
don Carnival. Game time is 4
p.m.
In other area soccer action,
the Huron Minor Soccer
Association coaches have
issued a challenge to the
Goderuch United squad. .The
match will be played at 3 p.m.
Nov 4 at Goderich
Psyc iatric Hospital field.
On Oct. 28, the G.M.S.A. will
hold it's first annual awards
banquet in the Goderich'
Psychiatric Hospital
auditorium.
Last Wednesday, 'Jim Weary
won•four games for a perfect 7-
0 record. Dave Weary won two
more garnes for a three and
nothing record.
However, through the week
Dave and Jirn split two games
spoiling each others perfect
record; enabling Rick Kingpley
to rnove into sole possession of
first place. Rick and Jim
Kingsley played to a stalemate
allowing each • other to main-
tain undefeated records.,
Harold Kloeie had a good
night winning three of four
games to take the lead in Level
2 Kathy -Weary also played
well winning two of three
games raising her percentage
175 points. Larry McDougall
won three of six matches to
take first place in Level 4.
As of October 16 the stan-

We will be starting apple art
this week. 'We have, been.
making globes which will be
around the school. We are
doing seed experiments and
doing seed art. We have made
window boxes and they are
starting to grow. Room 8 is
planning, a field trip to Pipers
Dam on.Monday Oct. 22. This
will further our study in our
Science and Social , Studies
Program.
Room 15 has a bulletin
board titled "Autumn's Paint
Box." It is decorated with fall
poems, stories and leaves which
the pupils have created.
