Gifts were presented by Misses Shelley and !Jennifer Grange. Mrs. Ross Daer made a hat out of the bows and pin- ned it on the bride-to-be. Karen thanked everyone for their gifts and a delicious lunch was ser- ved by neighbours. Mrs. Oliver Anderson and her daughter, Miss Nancy An- derson held a bridal shower for relatives for 'Miss Elaine Fowler, bride -elect of this month. Streamers and flowers in started a French club which meets every Friday at 12:50. Membership cards were made by club members last week and are now being sold at ten cents each. Club positions are beipg held by Melanie Johnston, president, Jeannette .Little, vice president, Donelda Smith, secretary and Debbie Hoy, treasurer. These students were chosen by club members in a vote. • Our skate exchange is over and we did very well in the selling of the equipment. We sold forty-eight pairs of skates or equipment such as gloves, helmets etc. After deducting our expenses we cleared $22.15 which will "go toward the pur- chasing of school equipment. Mr. Harland has started yard clean-up. Each week one class from the junior and senior wing help keep our school clean by picking up litter in its area of the grounds. Legion Auxiliary The Ladies Legion Auxiliary Branch 109 held its regular meeting in the Green Room, Legion Hall, Tuesday, Oct. 9. There were 50 members present. 'Ten new members were installed at the meeting. The Snowflake Bazaar will be held Nov. 16 with 20 tables to be let to organizations or in- dividuals who may be in- terested on a first comp, first served basis. Comrade Evelyn Carroll gave a brief report of an On- tario Provincial Ladies Legion Auxiliary full - executive meeting which she attended recently. The executive members decided , that coffee and fruit bread should be served after the meeting to enable the new members to get acquainted. A surprise for Comrade May McAuley- was a birthday cake to help celebrate her ?th birth- day. Church parade and Remem- brance Day service will be held November 11. Legion Auxiliary members are urged to attend if at all possible.
