In Mrs. Freeman's Grade 1
we are still talking about our
pets. On Friday, two of Ann's
kittens came to visit. They were
cute anti they had nice fur.
They were different colors - one
was black and white and the
other was light brown with
black stripes. David liked their
ears. They were fluffy. Pam
would like to have one.
Also on Friday we had
Grant's turtles, "Sissy and
Sam" to visit us.. Susan said
she didn't want to hold one.
They are black and green with
a little bit of white and yellow.
Their heads, feet, and tails go
in the shell. They have flat
faces. Their bodies look nice.
Their shells felt hard, slippery
and bumpy. They live in an
aquarium..
In our sensational soccer
series the Pee Wees are in first
place. The Lions follow close
behind and the Panthers and
Tiger Cats are in third place.
Mr. Currie's Grade 5-6 this
week had the privilege of
having a guest speaker. Mr.
Harland gave a 'very enjoyable
talk about Venice. This was an
introduction to a great explorer
of Venice, Marco- Polo and to
the city state, made of more
than a 100 islands which are
ioinee by hundreds of bridges,
and,`` of course, the busiest
water highway, the Grand
Canal.
In Miss Bonthron's-elass the
students have started to make
turkeys in preparation for
Thanksgiving.
Miss Braid, our .French
teacher, ?Tact' an excellent 'idea
for" a French contest. To par-
ticipate in 'this contest you had
to design a title page for either
your French dictionary or your
French notebook. A winner was
chosen from every class. The
winners° will receive a record
and a pronunciation book.
They are in junior hall: Mr.•
