The groom's mother wore a
floor -length empire -waisted
gown with long sleeves of
multi -colored chiffon, basically

The couple's honeymoon was
spent in the Thousand Islands

The newlyweds are residing
in Goderich.

A wedding trip_ to
Collingwood, Niagara Falls
and Buffalo followed the wed-
ding September 15 of Linda E.
Straughan and Donald C.
Johnston in Knox Presbyterian
Church where yellow gladioli
and white daisy mums in a can-
delabra with white streamers
decorated the chancel.
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and •Mrs. Donald
Straughan, -175 Park Street,
and the groom's parents are
Mr. and Mrs. Charles John-
ston, Nile.
Rev. Ronald C. McCallum
conducted the double -ring
ceremony. William Cameron
provided the wedding music
with compositions by Wesley,
Handel, Purcell, Bach and
Mendelssohn. Soloist William
Craig of Clinton sang The Wed-
ding Prayer and 0 Perfect -
Love.
Given in marriage by her
father, the bride chose a full-
length gown -designed and sewn
by her mother. It was of ,
polyester satin with French
lace and seed pearls em-
phasizing the empire waistline
and the skirt. The long- sleeves
were lace trimmed. She wore a
floor -length chapel train with
the entire hemline and train of
French lace and seed pearl ap-
plique. A tiny rose and pearl
headpiece held her floor -length
tulle veil . trimmed with lace
.and she, carried a cascade` of
red roses and baby's breath.
Matron of honor was Mrs.
•:>~Bannien,..Dungale,_sistez of the
groor%, Godcrjelt. She wore blue
flowered. nylon, over satin gown
with a high neckline and a frill
at the bottom of the long
sleeves that puffed at . the
elbow. She also wore .a blue pic-
ture hat and blue shoes and
carried one large yellow mum
with fern and yellow streamers.
Senior bridemaids were Mrs.
Judy Vanstone, Benmiller, and
Mrs. Brenda Vanderburgh,
Goderich. Junior 'bridesmaids
were Miss Lorraine
MacDonald, a ``,cousin of the
bride, Kintail; and Miss- Bar,
bara Straughan, sister of the
bride, Goderich. They were
gowned.. identically to the
matron- of honor.
The flowergirl, . Donna
Freeman, cousin of the bride,
was gowned identically to the
bride in a gown designed and
sewn by the bride's mother. She
wore a white picture hat trim-
med with lace and pearls and
carried a basket of red roses
and baby's breath.
Groomsman was Stan
Dungale, brother-in-law' of the
groom. Senior ushers were Bill
Vanstone, friend of the groom,
Benmiller and Denis Vander -
burgh, uncle of the groom,
Goderich. Junior ushers were
Ken Straughan, brother of the
bride, Goderich, and Larry
Johnston, brother of the groom,
Nile. Ringbearer was Garry
Johnston, brother of the groom,
Nile. All ushers wore blue
boutonnieres.
White mums and yellow

reception was held: Mrs.
Straughan greeted her guests in
a floor -length pink polyester
• sleeveless dress, gold shoes and
bag and a corsage of white
mums. The groom's mother
assisted her in a floor -length
flowered bluish nylon over
satin gown, silver shoes and
bag and a corsage of yellow
mums.
At the reception, the groom
toasted his grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Leslie Johnston on the
occasion of their 50th wedding ,
anniversary. Other guests were
present from North Bay,
Barrie, Owen Sound, Waterloo,
Stratford, Lucknow, Niagara
Falls, London, Thorndale;Ban-
croft, Seaforth, Tillsonburg,
Toronto, Wingham and
Goderich.
The bride's going -away en-
semble
was a floor -length green
crimpknit dress with white ac-
cessories and a corsage of white
mums.
The newlyweds are residing
at 337 Home Street, Stratford.

Church in Sydney, Nova Scotia

Ann MacNeil exchanged vows
and rings.
Rev. D.A. Doyle officiated, at
the ceremony where the wed-
ding music was supplied by
Pierce Sampson, organist, and
guest soloist Pat Bates of
Halifax
The bride is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs.. Bob MacNeil,
Sydney, Nova Scotia, and Mr.
and Mrs. John S. McKeown,
Goderich, are the parents of the
groom.
Escorted to the altar by her
father, the bride wore a floor -
length formal gown of chiffon
over peau de soie styled with
an empire waistline, high
neckline, long sleeves and
train. Her floor -length tail was
held in place by a Juliette cap
and she carried white roses .and
baby's breath.
Maid of honor was Joanne
Donovan, Sydney, N.S.
Bridesmaids were Cathy
MacNeil, sister of the bride,
and Elaine Bourdeau, both of
Sydney. They wore floor -length
white gowns with tiny floral
overprint of red and blue .and
carried nosegays of red, white
and blue.
Best man was Doug
McKeown, twin brother of the
groom, Goderich. Other groom-
smen were Peter Beaumont,
Sydney, and Robert Finch,
London. Ushers were David
Finch, London and Fred
Chaisson and Leonard Bour-
deau, both of Sydney.
The wedding reception was
in St. Theresa's Parish Centre
where large baskets of red,
white and blue carnations and
mums set the decor. The
bride's mother chose a mauve
floral chiffon over mauve satin
gown.- • 'The groom's mother
wore 'a yellow floral chiffon
over yellow satin with yellow
and white accessories and a
corsage, of white roses.
For travelling, the bride
changed to a mauve and white
pant suit with matching ac-
cessories and an orchid corsage.
Mr. and Mrs. McKeown are
residing in London.
Out-of-town guests at the
wedding were from Goderich
'and London.
Prior to the marriage, the
bride and groom were the
guests of honor at events in
Sydney, Nova Scotia and Lon-
don as well as in Goderich
where the groom's parents
hosted an ' informal pool -side
reception for family and
friends.
